Dubai, UAE: Fortes Education, a leading education provider, is introducing the BTEC qualification for the first time at its newest school, Sunmarke School. This comes as part of Fortes Education’s commitment to offering more choice and developing students’knowledge and skills in sectors relevant to future global economic growth.
The Dubai school is pioneering the career based qualifications that aim to get students prepared for university or entering straight into employment. The BTEC qualification courses available are Travel and Tourism, Business, Creative Digital Media Production and Information Technology. Applications are being accepted from January 2017 for the start of the new school term in September 2017 (academic year 2017-18) for students in years 10 and 12 for Level 2 and Level 3 respectively.
According to educational organisation, Pearson, when BTEC learning is combined with academic learning it develops practical knowledge and skills to help learners prepare for their careers.In 2015, Pearson said that over 50% of first year students going on to higher education in the UK have progressed by studying BTEC.

With the UAE hospitality sector alone forecast to increase by 10.8 per cent annually from last year to US$9.8 billion by 2020, Travel and Tourism is a clear course choice for the school.
