Dubai, UAE: Emirati youth will have promising opportunities by gaining theoretical knowledge in SAP technology and workplace experience before graduation, thanks to a partnership announced by Zayed University and SAP .
As part of the partnership, Zayed University has become the 8th university in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to sign up for SAP ‘s Dual Study Program, a one-to-two year program to up skill highly talented students in technology and project management skills.
Zayed University students, who are enrolled in the College of Business and Technological Innovation, will have the opportunity to become certified SAP Associate Consultants, by completing a curriculum that combines university theoretical studies with SAP certification during academia years. In addition to SAP certification, the participating students will gain work experience from mandatory internships within the SAP ecosystem.
“By pairing with one of the world’s leading software companies, our integrated technology-based curriculum will train Emirati youth and high-flying Zayed University undergraduates in the technologies that will enable them to enter high-potential careers that will drive and transform the UAE’s diversified economy. Joining SAP ‘s Dual Study program continues our mission of enhancing the scientific skills and capacities of our students,” said Professor Reyadh AlMehaideb, Vice President of Zayed University ( ZU ).
“Faculty members will be nominated, offered training sessions according to agreed-upon criteria between SAP and ZU, and shall assume responsibility for course delivery within ZU classrooms. Participating students will be mentored and provided with career counselling in cooperation with SAP , which will assist with identifying and approaching companies and institutions for internship placement,” AlMehaideb added.
SAP ‘s Dual Study Program is run by the SAP Training and Development Institute (TDI), which boosts knowledge and skills of talented students, university graduates, and the experienced workforce in the region. SAP TDI offers a host of programs tailored to support in the creation of sustainable work possibilities. Since its launch in 2012, the Institute has built skills and knowledge reflecting an In-country value of USD 70 million across MENA.
