Hope Centre was founded in 2001, as the need arose for specialized education programs that could be successful for students, cost effective, a passion & pride for the AJ Group to administer. With these guidelines in mind we set about designing our programs. The result is the addition of this soft dimension to the Al Ain Juniors Group of Schools. Since the beginning of Hope Centre to the present day, the Group's mission and the unique instructional model has never wavered. Building on our success with the most difficult-to-educate students, AJ Group currently provides services to thousands of children, in 5 Institutions, including the Hope Centre for Special Needs in Al Ain, UAE
Our aim is to develop, guide & nurture every individual's potential, to become a full and equally valued member of society.
Our vision is to provide individualised education that addresses students' physical, mental, social and emotional needs, in their unique learning styles, that will lay a foundation for a good and useful lif
Hope Centre started as a small unit in the year 2001, when it opened its doors to little angels with ‘special needs’.
But it worked with a difference: the families would pay whatever they could. This move saw many shut doors slowly open up, as parents could send their children to such centres without the pressure of paying a fee they found impossible to afford.
A centre with a well-structured program, Hope Centre, caters to children with various mental, physical and learning disabilities, and is run by trained professionals. The centre has a team of dedicated and experienced speech and occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and special educators who attend to the needs of Autistic, Down ’s syndrome, ADD, ADHD and Learning Disabilities units. Special attention is also paid to individual cases such as children with Cerebral Palsy.
Created in a culture of caring, Hope Centre is a unique special needs school in which students with behaviour, emotional & learning disabilities are taught to face their issues so that they can have productive fulfilling lives.
Hope centre's progressive approach maintains a structured environment that is warm & nurturing – one day one student at a time – to support each student's well being. Hope centre is accredited by Ministry of Social Affairs.
Students studying in an inclusive school such as Al Ain Juniors, follow the curriculum advised by the Special Needs department of ADEK. This includes subjects like Languages – English & Arabic, Math, Science, Social Science, Islamic education, Art & Physical Education. The level of all these subjects is lower & easier compared to the mainstream curriculum.
The curricular subjects are taught in the 'Resource Rooms' by the special educators, whereas during the non curricular subjects, students are mixed with the mainstream group for the benefit of both.
The levels of assessments also differ from the regular course, that in turn reflect on the promotion criteria which differs from one child to another.
A student following this curriculum receives a report from the school, at the time of leaving the school (Transferring cases) which will be endorsed by the special needs department of ADEK.
Students with disabilities can achieve great things in school when they receive the supports and services they require. While not every child with a disability will require special education services, every child whose disability affects their school progress is entitled to receive a specialized program in an Inclusive School, which meets their unique needs. In this era of school reform, it is expected that high standards will guide the teaching of all students.
A parent, teacher or other professional may refer a student for special education evaluation at any time by contacting the school's principal or administrator of special education.
The purpose of special education is to allow the student to successfully develop his or her individual educational potential. Along with providing services to the child, if necessary, services are provided to parents and to teachers for the student to benefit from special education
At Hope Centre, the special education system is based in combination, with the Ministry of Social Affairs & the Ministry of Education special education law. These laws protect Students with disabilities who are eligible for special education, Hope Centre guarantees them an Individualized Education Program (IEP) designed to meet their unique needs. This includes:
