Building Blocks nursery and enrichment centre uses the Early Years and Foundation Stage of National Curriculum (UK) framework and follow standards defined by the Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED). Babies come into the world ready to learn. They are especially interested in other people and in communicating with them using eye contact, crying, and cooing. They are sociable and curious; they explore their surrounding through relationships with others and through all their senses.
Infants are unique and have their own patterns for play, feeding and sleeping. We use these patterns as our guide to introduce daily activities. Regular, flexible routines help babies gain a sense of order in the world and to anticipate events.
During this period, your infant will develop an understanding and awareness of themselves. Learn that they have influence on and are influenced by others and learn that experiences can be shared.
We will make this first transition away from home easy for you and your infant by communicating with your child in non-verbal ways, such as gestures, sign language, facial expressions and singing. We will devote care and share their day with you.
We know each of our little ones will leave one day; but we will know with confidence that our children will possess the tools for their success for their next experience whether it be Pre-KG, FS1, FS2, KG1, KG2. Above all, we know they have come to a happy, secure, place where they are free to play, learn, grow and be all that they can be.
Children know the importance for good health of physical exercise, and a healthy diet, and talk about ways to keep healthy and safe. They manage their own basic hygiene and personal needs successfully, including dressing and going to the toilet independently. Fine motor, Gross motor, Dexterity, Skills, Strength, Muscles, Growth, Milestones children show good control and co-ordination in large and small movements. They move confidently in a range of ways, safely negotiating space. They handle equipment and tools effectively, including pencils for writing.
Children talk about past and present events in their own lives and in the lives of family members.They know that other children don’t always enjoy the same things, and are sensitive to this. They know about similarities and differences between themselves and others, and among families, communities and traditions.
Preschool is an important time for children as they are now building a stronger sense of their own identity and their place in a wider world. We promote children to be their own thinkers in an organized atmosphere as children are learning to recognise the importance of social rules and customs, to show understanding and tolerance of others.
They are learning cause and effect.We also teach children to work well within a group through listening, sharing and cooperation.
It’s not about following a curriculum or making them read or write before they’re ready. Quite the reverse. Children need hands-on experiences, they need warmth and attention. They need enthusiasm and encouragement. Most of all, they need the joy and challenge of doing it themselves. So they develop at their own pace, having fun, making friends and learning and growing as they play. Becoming confident, secure children who, when the time comes, are better prepared for school. Not pushed, not pressured. But ready to reach their potential.
From animals to alphabets, from books to blocks, from jingles to jigsaw, there are sticks for counting, seeds for planting and places for exploring. Using the British Early Years Foundation Stage framework, the nursery and enrichment centre has programmes for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergartners and school goers with teacher-led age-appropriate activities that help children develop physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially.
After schools close for the day, we still want our children to be in a safe, stimulating and a comfortable environment.
Our after-school program allows school goers to balance their time with fun and learning.
