The Lebanese School of Qatar was founded in 1976 by an elite group of men and women who had their country Lebanon and the Lebanese expats’ best interest at heart. They invested their time, effort and money generously and without respite to cater to the educational needs of the Lebanese Community in Qatar.

Lebanese School of Qatar. Located in the heart of doha, LSQ offers the two tracks of the Lebanese curriculum: English/Arabic and French/Arabic. LSQ has proved to be a top school with its record of both achievement and growth.

LSQ earned international accreditation from both advanced and label FrancEducation in 2016. This is a further affirmation that the school is commited to excellence, as well as dedication to ongoing improvement to ensure that we deliver high-quality education for our students.

The Lebanese School of Qatar is committed to providing all students with a high quality education that promotes creativity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. This commitment is evident in the dedication of our school’s highly qualified teachers and administrators, active parent involvement, and the tremendous support of the board members.

LSQ is viewed as a model for schools in Lebanon and abroad. It is supported by the parents, the community, and its Board of Trustees. LSQ is guided by the official Lebanese curriculum, combining a rich heritage and keeping up with the advancements of the time. Expertise, commitment, and sacrifice, are only few of the faculty traits. Its graduates are well prepared for the global workplace and for higher education.

LSQ vision and mission statements are underpinned by solid beliefs. Those beliefs are explicitly conveyed and practiced. We are a Lebanese School which serves the Lebanese community in Qatar. We instill patriotism in our students and at the same time, provide them with opportunities to engage in global events. LSQ graduates are armed with knowledge and skills to thrive in their studies, careers, and adult lives. We guide our students in their maturity journey as they navigate different stages during their school life and move from dependence to interdependence.

At LSQ we adopt a brain friendly teaching and learning approach. The principles of brain friendly teaching form the foundation of our daily practices. According to latest research, scientists found that the brain retains information faster when the learning experience is meaningful, relevant, and exciting. They also observed that the brain craves novelty and challenge. We design our teaching and learning experiences around those principles, so they are compatible with how the brain works. Our teachers are well trained and plan according to those principles to maximize students’ achievement.

We believe that cooperation, collaboration, and communication are essential 21st century skills and the key to successful careers. Students are exposed to carefully designed learning experiences where they work together, coach one another and produce learning in a competition free environment. We believe in the uniqueness and potential of everyone and we provide our students with differentiated instructions which cater for individual needs. We believe that our students should be accountable for their own learning and will be most motivated when they have some choice in what and how they learn.

A variety of curricular and extracurricular activities are incorporated into our school life. LSQ team makes every effort to enrich students’ learning with life skills and help them connect with others of similar interest. Furthermore, fun, and engaging activities provide an opportunity for students to build their self-confidence and enhance their self-esteem. We know that students who are involved in different activities and clubs around the school are more successful learners and achievers.

Additionally, LSQ offers its students a variety of opportunities to develop their leadership skills. It also, utilizes technology to facilitate communication, students support, self-paced learning, and assessment. This is all done through fostering a safe environment, where stress is facilitative, not debilitative, and where the atmosphere is nurturing yet challenging and motivating.

Finally, the most overwhelming key to a child’s success is a true school-parent partnership. We constantly look for ways to strengthen our connections with parents to enhance both parents’ and children’s experiences with school.
