The Universal American School, Kuwait (UAS) is a private nonprofit co-educational college-preparatory school serving multinational students from Preschool to Grade 12. UAS opened in September 1975 with approximately 300 students to begin a high-quality tradition in academics, athletics, fine arts, and extra-curricular activities. Today there are over 1,800 students from all over the world as we approach our 47th anniversary of excellence in education.

UAS is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and New England Association of Schools and Colleges NEASC). There is a particularly selective student admissions procedure based on an interview and required entrance examination at all levels. Approximately 380 staff includes highly qualified teachers and many long-term employees. A large percentage of faculty members have advanced degrees in addition to required teaching certification.

UAS is unique among international schools. We not only prepare individuals from many nationalities and cultural backgrounds to become well-rounded and proficient scholars in academics, the arts, and athletics. We are expressly dedicated to educating the whole child, to instilling an enthusiasm for creativity, learning for its own sake, reflection, empathy, and responsibility. Our students know that humanity and compassion are as vital and necessary as the mastery of literature or mathematics.

Through our partnership with our multi-national parents, faculty, students, and staff, we have created a unified community and collective spirit that reaches out to embrace all those whose lives we touch, most particularly those who have passed through our doorway and who are now far away investing their wisdom and talents in building a better world. We invite you to join our UAS family and become part of our exciting endeavor. The rewards are abundant—not simply personal, but all-encompassing, shared and enjoyed by many across a rapidly contracting universe.

Our staff will continue to develop lessons that are student driven, engaging and collaborative; Students will be able to master the content of their subjects and then apply their knowledge to multiple areas of learning. We will be rolling out our school-wide positive behavior management plan.
