CHS student body is composed of children from 25 different countries. Special classes in Arabic language are offered to our international stream to promote intercultural understanding through developing better communication skills.
Our school is in its final phase of construction. We hope to have the theatre at full operations by the beginning of 2010. The summer campers enjoyed the use of the swimming pools, multipurpose hall and gymnasium. Things are looking big and beautiful in the sports complex. Three new sections of classes opened this year and with new students came the need for new teachers. One of the top priorities of the school is the training of teachers in education. Workshops are constantly being offered in subject areas, classroom management and curriculum programs.
Cambridge High School aims to recognize its students’ full potential and to elevate them towards future excellence. CHS aspires to enrich the society with internationally minded innovators who are nevertheless capable of maintaining a deeply-rooted pride in their culture, and who are also willing to contribute positively and proudly to their community and the world.
We provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum that enhances the social, emotional, intellectual, aesthetic and physical development of each child while nurturing independence, self-esteem and confidence. This is done through the implementation of the MYP and the DP of the IBO. These programmes comprehensively cover approaches to teaching and learning.
We believe that students’ potential is not limited to classroom settings alone. As a result, we have a year-round comprehensive and diverse range of activities that are sure to please everyone’s unique interests and talents.
After regular school hours, there is a set of activities involving Grades K – 10: football, basketball, track and field, tennis, gymnastics, photography, piano, oud, guitar, drums, arts and craft, drama and pottery.
Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) is a completion requirement for graduation. But, we emphasize the holistic approach to the three strands of CAS and involve the whole school. The older students are involved in the leadership and design of projects that cover all the outcomes.
