Mashrek International School

Mashrek International School was established in 1992. It is a private, bilingual, coeducational IB World School accredited by the CIS. Mashrek offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) for grades 11 and 12; the Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) for grades 6 to 10 and the Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) for Pre-KG to grade 5. The school was founded with an enrolment of 172 students in a small campus and now has 1800 students representing more than 26 nationalities in a large campus and tremendous facilities located in Dabouq outside the city of Amman.

At the essence of change, we at Mashrek are keeping up with this rapidly changing world, whether it is through our advanced use of technology and the differentiated instruction methods that ensure to maximize each student’s potential within an environment that is student-centered or engaging either virtually or physically. With the BYOD approach, OneNote and every classroom being equipped with a Smart Board, students and teachers are able to master blended learning and are prepared for the globalized world.

In addition to the pride we exhibit in our academic achievements, we foster good citizenship, paying back the community and a sense of responsibility and respect towards others through the voluntary work and community service projects that students initiate and undertake. We also provide our students with a wide variety of opportunities to develop and practice leadership skills in preparation for life beyond school, whether through taking part in local and global conferences or organizing events such as the MMUN, the TOK Conference and the Model Youth Parliament inside the school.

To ensure international standards are met and to keep connected with international schools worldwide, Mashrek International School is accredited by the International Baccalaureate with its 3 programmes (PYP, MYP and DP). Moreover, it is accredited by the CIS i.e. the ‘Council of International Schools’, a prestigious international board of education committed to high-quality international education. Utilizing international criteria, an external team visits the school every five years to assess the school’s status in terms of pedagogical standards of teaching and learning, in addition to our commitment to global citizenship. This achievement would not have been possible without the efforts of our dedicated and compassionate staff.
