Honeypot Nursery

We at the Honeypot Nursery School understand that choosing the right nursery for your child is a big and important decision. We aim to provide the perfect solution to any parent in search of high quality childcare. The Honeypot Nursery School provides nursery care and education for children aged between 1-4 years.

The staff at the Honeypot Nursery School are deeply committed to helping all children learn and develop in the best possible way, allowing them to reach their maximum potential. Staff are highly qualified and all have a significant amount of experience of working within Early Years. We aim to provide affordable Early Years education and care.

We endeavour to create a safe, happy and stimulating environment where children can learn to interact with others and develop positive relationships with both adults and their peers. We aim to encourage independence through active learning, ensuring that each child is valued and has equal opportunities.

We are passionate about working in partnership with parents and provide many ways for parents to be involved on the journey of their child's learning. Children learn from each other as they co-construct knowledge together. Children learn best when they are actively engaged in meaningful activities.

At Honeypot nursery school we are building up our day schedule to include a wide variety of activities so that each child can find an area in which he/she may excel and have experiences of success. Since we are following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, we strongly believe that play is one of the most important “languages” that young children use to learn about and understand the world. We create caring and loving environment for the children so they feel safe, secure, valued and understood in order to optimize learning.

Our children learn how to look after themselves, to help others and to take care of the environment. They often work individually, developing concentration and character, but at the same time form a united whole – “a cohesive society”. The children also work in small and large groups and develop relationships with other children and adults. Through activities, conversation and example they learn how to express their own emotions and to respect for the feelings of others.

Our children are encouraged to communicate effectively, with adults and other children, in a variety of individual, small and large group situations. They are helped to extend their vocabulary through stories, rhymes, songs, role play and the use of educational materials. Books, both fiction and reference, are freely available for the children to explore and at the appropriate time in their development they are taught the sounds of the letters of the alphabet. A wide range of language materials are available to enable the children to learn to read and write at their own pace within a carefully planned phonetic scheme.

Children have a natural concern for all living things and delight in looking after plants and animals. We have a wide variety of pictures, puzzles and books to stimulate the children’s interest and help to organize their sensorial impressions of the world around them. Also we encourage our children to take care of the garden, where they plant seeds and observe the growth of the plants. We familiarize children with the structure of the family, teach them about seasons. Our children are also encouraged to explore simple science such as: magnetism, light, magnification, water and sand.

Our children develop confidence and enjoyment in the use and development of their own body skills. They move around the classrooms freely and learn to control their own movements as they carry their materials and respect other children’s work. Group sports lessons allow the children to practice balancing, throwing, catching, climbing, sliding jumping etc. The physical activities also encourage the development and refinement of large and fine motor skills in preparation for using pens, pencils and other tools and materials.

In our nursery school children are learning how to function in a group in which they can experience the joy of being and learning together. We strive for a community in which each member is recognized, valued, and supported, and in which learning is seen as valuable and rewarding. Honeypot nursery school provides experiences that support large and small muscle development. These include activities both inside and outside.

Children are given a wide variety of materials and encouraged to experiment with cutting, pasting, gluing, drawing, working with playdough, writing, painting, constructing with many materials, doing puzzles, and using other manipulatives. There is significant time every day for children to run, climb, jump, play with balls, dig in the sand, pull wagons, and explore the playground. In our nursery kids also have a variety of musical experiences, such as singing, playing instruments, participating in singing games, making up songs, moving and listening to music. All the activities are age-appropriate and specially tailored for the particular age group.

At Honeypot Nursery School the language of communication is English. Also we teach Arabic and Holy Quran (all optional) in the older classes. Our daily program includes sports activities (obstacle course), dancing, music, arts, reading, role play, show and tell, children own garden care and simple science experiments. Also during the classroom time children learn letter, number and shape recognition and develop phonemic awareness. At Honeypot Nursery school children don’t watch TV, as every day we have an exciting program full of various activities.
