Higher education has never been more accessible, and there have been many options for every type of budget, learning style, and goal. Having so many options is great, with one caveat. One has to decide where to pursue your goals. It's a big decision, and it can be hard to find quality and pertinent programme to help you shape your career. Pursuing my Masters degree here has opened numerous avenues for me. I have had the exposure to various new opportunities. Finding a college that meets your requirements is essential for making your college experience enjoyable, and that is what BITS has provided to me. They have provided me a platform where I can build my overall personality, gain industry experience as well as pursue my education hand in hand, preparing me for the outside world.

The BITS Pilani Dubai Campus is architecturally beautiful. It's hostel is very nice for students. It has a very beautiful infrastructure with all facilities. Students from different countries get an opportunity to learn and collaborate. Overall a very good place for studying.

Hi guys, I am Nikita, a recent graduate from BITS B.E Chemical Engineering. Four years of my life in BITS have been the most memorable ones. Made lots of friends, got to learn so much from everyone. The faculty was always supportive and helped me whenever I needed them. Be in terms of academics or extra curriculum, it was always a new day filled with enthusiasm and energy. Every now and then there were various activities and events such as Sparks, Jashn, Enguinity, and BITS Sports Festival etc. which kept us busy and allowed each one of us to explore ourselves and go beyond our shells to learn something new. I was a part of the Basket Ball team in my first year and played inter-college tournament which gave me a good exposure and experience to play with some of the best players from various colleges. I was also the part of the drama club (Paribhasha) in which we had lots of street plays and stage acts which inculcated a lot of confidence within me. We won a lot of inter-college events and made BITS proud. I did two research projects in which my faculty helped me a lot and our labs which have all the facilities allowed me to successfully complete them and bring out the optimum results. The student council was always there for us and made sure that we faced no difficulties and any system where we found difficulty was made smooth and easy. New petroleum lab has been added to the chemical engineering lab, which will give the students a better understanding of the subject and allow them to go deeper into it. Also a new department of Civil Engineering has been introduced by the college to attract more students and develop a career in this growing sector.

BPDC is one of the best universities at UAE in the field of engineering. The academic curriculum and exposure to industry through field trips to actual site prepares students for an industrial career. The research opportunities provided on campus and off campus at universities like the Petroleum Institute and MIT helps increase the horizon of opportunities and options for students. The exposure and opportunities are useful in understanding the nature of work. They helped me understand what I wanted to pursue as a career and how to work on it. It was a motivating experience to complete my undergraduate degree in chemical engineering at BPDC.

My experience at BITS-Pilani Dubai Campus will forever remain as the best four years of my life. Academically, the course work challenged me. There were also several opportunities for internships and research experience that are of great help to the students whether they intend to pursue higher studies or join the job market. My internship at Worley Parsons under the BITS Practice school program provided me with hands-on experience in industrial engineering problems. My projects and final year thesis on waste-water treatment were also of tremendous help in gaining research experience for grad school. BITS Pilani also has some really great fests and events that made my years very memorable. From Technofest to Sparks to the much awaited Annual day and farewell party popularly known as Diro’s tea party, I have had some fun times participating in awaited well as organizing events!

To be honest, getting admit into one of the Premier University from India was one of the most challenging task. BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus gave me a golden opportunity and opened its gateway of array of spectacular opportunities. With its prestigious ranking, it is a dream for every student to be part of such a university with diverse field of specialization and knowledge that bolster one's capability atop great levels. One of the most important factor being the academic curricula, that has been designed keeping in mind various factors proved to be a splendid advantage. The kind of subjects, electives offered gave sufficient exposure both in terms of practical and theoretical level and hence improve one's knowledge pertaining to the subject to a vast extent. Another important factor is the friendliness of our faculty, it is indeed a true blessing to have faculty who are student –friendly and helpful with amazing subject knowledge and treat you on par with them, thus enabling more interest into the subject. Added to these advantages, various other team projects, course projects helped me to gain in depth practical application of knowledge gained in classroom. The Internships offered during Practice School Program(I & II) benefit one with hands on experience and various other useful skills(soft skills, technical skills). I believe, academic aspects are not the only key factors that one has to gain exposure with, but various other aspects that supplement one's overall growth is the key to success. I was elected as the Vice President of Student Council 2015-16, which proved to be a an exceptional blessing, wherein I got the opportunity to meet more experienced, learnt professionals, interacting with them about various student related concerns and knowing their inputs/suggestions enhanced my level of thinking. Throughout the tenure, every challenge I came across proved to beneficent in various spheres of my life and trained both my mental and physical abilities.These included, choosing of Executive committee of members for the Event management Committee, various decision making processes, Coordinating & supervising various intra & Inter Collegiate events, carrying out meeting with companies-(negotiation talks) that helped in enhancing the facilities provided to students of BPDC(kiosk machine & vending machine, Retail Caterers) and many more. All these experiences have given me a great exposure and has bestowed me with good leadership qualities. BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus is a place where one does not grow only in the academic sphere, but also in various other fields of life that are crucial in later stage, and hence give an individual adequate intelligence and knowledge to handle challenging situations.

University is the most crucial turning point in the life of an ambitious person. And one such university is BITS PilaniDaubai campus which brings multilingual cultures together under one roof. This is our chance to interact with different people and know their innovative ideas. With state of the art facilities and knowledge base from ours faculties, we as students get a a multidimensional perspective of engineering. Our university gives us an opportunity to link academic knowledge with industrial practicality. A student's capability is decided on the basis of grades and projects done and this is how a training station is allotted. With reference to that, I was placed at a multinational pharmaceutical company- Merck Sharp Dohme which provided me with an open minded experience of how the Industry works. Our college has also widened our horizons by providing us with good research project facilities thus appreciating our ideas. Being a final year student, I am looking forward to a 6 month internship In a reputed healthcare company and also a placement guarantee which I am sure our college will live up to. Not only has our college given us an opportunity to pursue our academic dreams, but also an amount equal importance to co-scholastic activities. Jashn, Enginuity,Sparx and BITS Sports festival keeps us away for a bit, from just study. With this, our college stands above all and lives up to its standards.

BITS Pilani, Dubai has made me what I am today. BITS has helped me mature both professionally and emotionally. I came here far from home and entered with many expectations and a lot of apprehension. In a very short period of time, this place became my home and the people here, became my family. I met new people from different walks of life and learnt so much from them. The professors here are extremely educated and contain so much knowledge that learning from them is outright amazing and they supported me inside the class and outside. I made sure that I would be equally active in extracurricular activities and BITS gave me ample opportunity to do this. We have our intra college fest (SPARKS) and our inter-college fest (JASHN) where I was not only able to participate but also help organize it. I was part of the MUN that took place here and also helped organize the BITS SPORTS FESTIVAL 2016 and it was a learning experience for me. BITS helps you grow and treats every individual as an adult and that helps us realize our responsibilities and act as a team. Everyone here is ready to help others irrespective of if they are friends are not. The seniors here guide us and have taught us many things that we could not learn in the class. The Practice school concept of BITS is what got me interested before I joined. This concept is unique and it gives us the practical knowledge that is needed to enter the corporate world. There are certain guidelines that needs to be followed when you leave your college and enter the office and it’s always good to know about this before we graduate. To conclude, I am in my 4th year and I wish to stay here longer, to spend more time with the college and my friends. BITS has prepared me well for the future and I would like to thank BITS Dubai for this.

BITS Pilani, Dubai is one of the best choices anyone could make for their higher education simply because it brings together the academic excellence of the Pilani campus with the state of the art infrastructure that you can get in Dubai along with the multi-cultural environment that the UAE provides, thus making it one of the best educational experiences anyone could ever ask for. And of course, this is one of the foremost reasons why I sought an admission in BITS Pilani for my undergraduate studies. Moreover, the campus, the labs, the environment on the campus, everything is such a great help for the students in not only providing the right mix of study and fun but also in creating the right balance in curricular and co-curricular activities. The sports field, the indoor sports complex, the basketball and volleyball courts all help make every Jack NOT a dull boy, but one of the best the BITS brand churns out every year. Along with studying, BITS Dubai has helped me gain exposure in various fields, for example, by providing opportunities to assist professors in academic and college affairs, by being part of various clubs and associations (there is even a club for gazing at the moon at night. We call it the Astronomy Club, though), by conducting events solely handled by students and even by our Practice School program, where we gain actual industrial experience of over 8 months by the time we pass out, thereby getting over the Catch-22 of today’s job market, wherein you need to have experience even in a job for a ‘fresh graduate’. It’s like redefining the whole “all-round” experience that many institutions proudly talk about, but rarely deliver. BITS Dubai definitely teaches you to consider your available choices and make the best choice, by giving us options for the subjects you want to study and for the teachers you want to be taught by. Now when you have the choice to study in such a good institution, why keep wondering?

I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology and I can say this with complete confidence that the labs and facilities in our college are of the highest standards. The course offers hands-on experience for the students to conduct research experiments and gain knowledge about the subject. The department of Biotechnology invites experts from all over the world who conduct lectures and seminars for students on the current trends in biotechnology. These interactive sessions along with industrial visits help students to understand the scope of their subject and choose the right career options for themselves. As a senior year student of BITS-Pilani Dubai I feel that this college has a vast variety of opportunities for students beyond studies. The college has the biggest events in the U.A.E which cater to all kinds of interests and backgrounds like arts, sports, literary, technical and much more. Even though BPDC is an engineering college the students are exposed to various activities where they learn managerial and leadership skills. The students participate in various business and technical events extending outside their coursework.

My journey in BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus has been nothing less than a roller coaster ride, with its ups and downs. Currently a final year Biotechnology engineering student, I have learnt a lot from this college and this experience will stick with me throughout my lifetime. Just as any anxious and eager high school graduate, I wanted to make the right choice of university to pursue my graduation for a bright future and better career prospects. I joined BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus anticipating to fulfill my dreams of being an engineer in 2013 and to this day I am proud of my decision. BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus offers not only top quality education but it also gives equal importance to extra-curricular activities. In terms of academics, it is equipped with state-of-the-art research laboratories and teaching facilities with student friendly professors. The professors are well-versed with their subjects and learning becomes an interesting feat rather than cumbersome and boring. Since I take a keen interest in music, my choice of college had to be one which gives equal importance to cultural events and activities. Pursuing my hobby of DJing in college, BITS Pilani gave me a stage to perform on, from events like Dandiya Night to Halloween parties. Performing in front of my seniors and my batch-mates alike was very encouraging and motivating for me but it was equally challenging nonetheless! The student community is very helpful and they encourage you to showcase your talent through various events taking place in the college. I have met people of various ethnicities and also made many good friends during my wonderful four years in this college. Overall, BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus has molded me into a responsible and better human being. It has given me a target to achieve in life, which I was clueless before, as any high school graduate. I am surely going to miss this college but I will take this positive experience and knowledge it has imparted in me to overcome the next obstacle in life.

The BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus is one of the premier Education Institutes in Dubai, providing state-of-the-art facilities and world-class education to all the students. I assure you, this line isn't stolen from the University's website, every person associated with the Institute can vouch for the unambiguous changes in their personality. Everything ranging from the course structure, to the concept of having a continuous evaluation system is carefully designed so that the students benefit in the longer run. A Dubai Campus student is trained to be able to face any hassle in the real-time world. All the events, clubs and associations are handled entirely by the students with finesse, thus giving us the perfect platform to unleash our creativity and express ourselves in a myriad of ways. Academically, the Institute has the best set of Professors and Advisers, who encourage the students to conjure up theories and concepts outside the curriculum. We have two successful Formula SAE teams, Gear Shifters and BAHA with both of them winning laurels at National Levels. To add, we also have IFOR and IORTA, two teams that specialize in Aerial Drones. Our students have ventured out and won Competitions in NASA, they have their thesis in successful journals and all these glorious achievements can only be accredited to the holistic learning the Institute provides us. Academics is definitely not our only forte, we have the best dancers and musicians in the town, the best designers on board, plenitude students who have excelled in art, puzzle solving and such off beat propositions. We organize BSF, which is the largest Inter-University Sports Tournament in the whole of UAE; 'Jashn' which is the perfect celebration of the BITsian spirit, and 'Enginuity' for the technical minds alike. The hostel family paints the town red during 'Recharge' which is a 5-day fun and gala event for everyone to get together and feel like home. It is revitalizing to see the whole campus filled with life in the wee hours of the night, with everyone playing together and encapsulating memories for them to cherish for the next few months to come.

Being a third year chemical engineering student, I can confidently say that joining BITS Pilani Dubai has been one of the best decisions I have made in terms of my education. BPDC has very reputed faculty providing high standard quality education. The reason I chose BPDC is because of the ease with which I can get a B.E (Hons.) degree from a reputed college by not having to shift to any other country since I live here. The best aspect of BDPC is that along with studies, equal importance is given to extra-curricular activities too. There are a number of college fests and events throughout the year which makes the experience all the more enjoyable.

(Hons.), M.E., M.B.A. and Ph.D. programmes in various engineering and allied disciplines wherein nearly 1800 students are admitted from over 20 countries world-wide. Done with a brief starter about the campus, as a third year B.E.Biotechnology student in BITS I would like to share my experience in this campus, as I take you through a student’s journey from a sophomore to junior. In 2014, I was not only a newbie at college but also to the city, as I just moved in for the first time to Dubai. Yes, I was put in a foreign place, miles away from my hometown, to spend a huge part of my academic life. I still remember the night before fresher’s orientation day, how I was trying to squeeze into my mind the fact that I have to accommodate myself to the city and most importantly to the diverse campus which housed students from nearly 1800 students are admitted from over 20 countries world-wide.As I entered the campus the first thing that caught my eyes was the simple yet elegant campus that was lush with greenery and coated with ambient light brown. A campus tour introduced me to the important features including main academic block, library, mechanical block, sports complex, cafeteria,etc.As the day progressed I was busy finishing official formalities as a fresher, I came to know the proceedings of curricular and co-curricular activities of the campus, events that students are exposed to,oppurtunities provided in the campus,etc.Fortunately, I felt least intimidated about the surroundings, thanks to the professors in charge and senior students who were volunteering for the day. Not to mention united by the sheer excitement we fresher’s had in common I was able to make good number of friends from all kinds of department. I would be exaggerating if I don’t accept the fact that I was in a way anxious about undergraduate life, the responsibilities that came with it, but as the day ended with a motivational speech from the campus director, Dr.R.NSaha,I felt much better and determined to do my best in future.I went home wondering whether it was the feel-like-home campus or welcoming faces of campus people or simply a positive vibe that I felt, made me confident about upbeat about life at BITS. Success and fulfilment of college life is all about striking the right balance between academic and extracurricular activities. BITS provides an option of flexible timetable, wherein a student can choose time slots for classes with decent amount of spare time between class and lab hours. This helped me a lot in discovering the college clubs participate in sports activities, volunteering events and of course chill out after brainstorming classes. Apart from this attendance is lenient enough to provide students a chance to participate in activities whenever it is possible. As I entered second and third year I was able to utilize these free hours for my project course in laboratories. Speaking of which, if you are a student who aims to devote yourself to 2 research field and would love to do practical scientific work in your discipline related laboratories, then I can say BITS will be a best place to choose. Right from the project type of courses (includes study/lab/design/special projects) and thesis option, one who has affinity towards hands on work, can benefit from well-maintained lab facilities and thorough guidance from faculty members. Flexible working works in the laboratory and encouraging atmosphere creates a real thirst for the innovative-you. One of my favorite part of the campus is the library, which houses not only course related books but also, a collection of fiction, non-fiction story books, scientific journals and magazines and graduate examination preparation books. If you are up for a productive day either learning for upcoming tests or to unleash the bookworm in you or even to take last minute print outs for assignment submission, then library is the perfect spot. As a student a best perk I ever got was the 20% waiver on tuition fees as I secured a CGPA of 9. Yes if a student gets a CGPA of 9 or above, a 20% concession on tuition fees awaits them.This is a good move on the college’s side, a nice way to appreciate efforts of students. And believe me, chances your parent allows you to keep those bucks to yourself is pretty high ;) I would be betraying my narration, if I forget about the faculty members one can get to see here.They extend their best support when it comes to students trying to acquire knowledge. There are chamber consultation hours and tutorial sessions every week during which faculty make available themselves to interact with students. Tests are conducted as five components, which gives a good chance for students to improve their grades as they progress. Whenever I had question/ideas about my project courses, it was always cleared as a result of input from a group of professors, each one of them showing equal interest in the subject. The special part is there is actually no gap existing in teacher-student relationship, as they become one amongst us when it come to festive days such as Holi milan,diwali and ethnic day celebrations. Apart from this, a student can participate in a number of activities,(either as a event organizer/ volunteer/audience) that happens to be buzzing around the college throughout the year.Sparks,Jashn,Technofest, Artex,BITS sports festival,to name a few of course there are student clubs to enhance one’s talents and BITS never fails to impress people time and again in inter and intra college events.And you don’t want to miss the ethnic day wherein a student can put forth their best self in their traditional attire. In short sense there is no dearth of entertainment and fun all throughout a student’s stay here. Undergraduate life is a competitive environment by itself and it plays an important role in preparing you for the rat-race out there,after you graduate. To be frank, it took me my freshmen and half of sophomore year to figure out how exactly to strike the right balance amongst activities and sometimes I felt overwhelmed by a wave of responsibilities too, but with the right people and right environment in BITS, you can actually wade your way happily through university life.Given a place full of opportunities,encouragement, 3 strength, entertainment and hope it is upto a student to mold oneself into an impeccable undergrad student at BITS. This may sound like a cliché, but I will be missing my campus in huge amounts, once I graduate. The trials I faced and the support I received, has taught me a lot and apart from the graduation certificate, I will be taking out of the campus truck-loads of memories and most importantly a new and prudent me. I conclude by highlighting my college’s motto, ‘Knowledge is supreme power.’ So students out there, gear up and make a wise decision in choosing your college.Stay optimistic and cheerful! (P.S. A nervous immature high-school graduate with a flummoxed look on her face walks into an extraterrestrial world where alien species greet her warmly. She, like many is uncertain of the choice that she has made. Only to realize that the one decision she has taken, has had the power to change her life forever. Confused, aren’t you? I was too.Choosing the right career and the right university can be daunting. So, what really sets BITS apart from any other institution in the UAE, you ask? Well, what doesn’t? I believe that to be able to bond so strongly to your Indian roots and yet get an opportunity to interact with people from a diversity of cultures and nationalities in DIAC, is something that truly broadens your thinking. When it comes to education, they say teachers can either make us or break us. We are fortunate enough to have some of our reputed faculty hired from the mother campus itself and the coveted IITs who foster in us a joy for learning. As an undergrad pursuing Biotechnology, I feel glad to have interactive sessions with guest lecturers from the world’s most prestigious universities. Just last week, we had a talk on ‘Biotechnology in Mental Health’ by a Researcher from King’s College London. I don’t think that anyone could disagree on the fact that the curriculum of BITS is at par with the Ivy Leagues, but what really contributes to holistic development are the plethora of elective subjects and the liberty to choose inter-disciplinary subjects at BPDC. BPDC stays true to its motto , ‘Innovate. Achieve.Lead’ with the number of inter-university competitions at national and international levels that challenge us to etch a mark.There is a feature unique to BITS which gives its students an edge over any other university, the Practice School program where internships mold us into not only engineers who are prepared to face the competitive workforce but also entrepreneurs, global leaders and thinkers of tomorrow. It has only been over one year at BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus, yet how it has transformed me is astounding. From TEDxBPDC talks where famous personalities shared their success stories to MUN sessions which gave me a different perspective of world affairs , I see myself as a more confident individual today.With the chance of being a Senior Reporter at the Editorial Board, interacting with some passionate writers, like myself, I had the chance to enhance my writing skills. My life took a giant leap with BITSAA Global Meet (BGM)2017, an alumni meet which happens every two years in which I am selected to spearhead the Branding and Content Committee of BGM. I am lucky to get a real glimpse of the corporate world as we have frequent interactions with renowned BITS alumni who are the CEOs of some of the world’s leading MNCs. I had never imagined that I would be drafting Sponsorship and Travel Brochures, writing marketing e-mails, designing ads and the content for an international website and an android app within my first year. If there is one thing that I fell in love with in the first week, was the vibrant aura of the campus which makes you to look forward to everyday. There is no word called ‘monotonous’ in our dictionaries. ‘Whether it is the free guitar classes that helps you to relax during college hours, the Arduino Robotics workshops at weekends that spark ingenuity, the photography classes by Nikon that let you unwind or simply stargazing through telescopes, there is so much happening around campus.Be it Fashion or Graphic Designing , Aeronautics or Game Development, Music or Drama; there is a club for everything and everyone. And if it isn’t there yet, you can start one! This is just my story. One BITSian’s story. But there are so many more BITSians whose voices will echo the same. I hope that the way BITS changed my life, it would change yours too!

With a serene and secure campus, and a cozy on-campus residence, our institute is perfect for any student who would like to attain quality education whilst staying close to home. Getting started with university is extremely overwhelming for any student. With memories of school life and a baggage of hope, we walk through the doors expecting either the worst, or the absolute best. For many, it is the leaving of home. The beginning of a new chapter. Orientation day was my first look into college. A visual walkthrough and a few speeches later, I knew that we are all in for the long run, which would have its difficulties, but fun nonetheless. First week of college was very exciting. As are all things, before we realize they are to become second nature. We were introduced to an extremely experienced faculty, with a strict and professional exterior, and an occasional softer side and a natural instinct to look out for their students. They lead us through their courses and highlighted the input we require to achieve our dreams. One of the many things that you pick up in your very first week of college, if you get time to breathe that is, is that your goals are yours to achieve and a plan is necessary. Our congenial professors and counsellor are all the stimulus we need to strive to do better. We were greeted with a large and diverse crowd of students, eager to make their mark. Among this crowd and confusion, is where you find your family who will be part of every cherished memory. University is a mode of self-expression. Our college celebrates individuality by investing into the various talents of its students with its state of the art facilities and clubs. The lush green fields, basketball and tennis courts, sports complex, livened with the enthusiasm of the players and coaches, is a sight for sore eyes and is all the motivation that one needs to try out something new. Our various tech and talent clubs keep the culture running through our veins and ideas pulsating through our minds with occasional talks by select speakers from across the globe, workshops and training programs to instill passion and occasional contests to keep the competitive spirit alive. Our college is also affiliated with various international organizations such as the Association of Mechanical Engineers, and several student chapters such as the IEEE chapter, the SAE chapter, and the Association of Computing Machinery. These clubs have been formed to undertake various practical activities across the globe and keep tabs on the latest proceedings and innovation under their respective fields. As the days go by, one of the most revered events in college are the technical and cultural fest’s which pack a punch into usual college life almost every month. With eccentric competitions, innovative ideas, awesome prizes and food stalls from some of the best restaurants in the city, these fest’s receive enthusiastic participation from the student body and witness an amazing turnout of spectators, eager to support the participants. As we traverse through a rocky semester filled with cycles of tests and quizzes, our college ensures its students a night or two to blow off steam and let their hair down. Right from the Freshers Party, to the frequent DJ nights, Ethnic Day and Dandiya Night, we take some time off from our busy schedules to dress up and spend the night with our friends to rejuvenate. At college, every day is a new opportunity to break your boundaries and push further to a better future and a better self. One of the most valued things about the time spent here, is simply being here. As a senior in college today, it’s fascinating to watch the juniors travel the same path and make college their second home. It’s even more intriguing to ponder over how their journey’s compares with ours. Every person to ever walk the halls of our institute has a beautiful story to tell, which they proudly uphold as they walk out with a scroll in their hands, ambition in their hearts and tears in their eyes. It’s been a year and a half of my time at university and we have had the best memories we didn't hesitate to create, thanks to the outstanding and supportive family that is BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus.

BITS PILANI, the no. 1 private university of India. Its name is not new and much herd off ever since when it was first established on 18th June, 1964. It has 3 prestigious colleges in India which have produced outstanding personalities over the past years in varying fields and continue to do so. BITS PILANI DUBAI, the first international branch of BITS was established in Dubai on 5th December 2007. It offers undergraduate, post graduate and research courses in engineering. Computer science, chemical, electrical & electronics, electronics & communication, electronics and instrumentation, Mechanical, Biotechnology, Civil engineerings are various streams in which students can enrol. But what one actually needs to know to join a university is not the history of the university and not how many successful people have graduated from it, but the opinion and story of someone studying in it and how the university has helped him or her to grow both in academics and personality and how it is continuing to do so. So here is my BITS STORY. My Bits Story: I still remember my first day of college, seeing hundreds of new faces, a completely new area , feeling anxious and the same time excited for a new start. Being the introvert, shy and awkward person I was and also not that studious I did not have much expectations from college. But with the ever supporting faculty who always found ways to make studies interesting and at the same time encourage us to be more active in extracurricular activities I can gladly say I have turned a new leaf in my life. I have become much more social, found out talents in me that did not know existed and college life in bits still continues to amaze me. I give the credit for this to my friend, seniors, teachers and this wonderful and harmonious environment provided to me by BITS DUBAI and i would encourage and insist that you come here to experience this for yourself, to be inspired and then continue to be an inspiration for others.

I have been a huge fan of Marvel x-men. So the idea of genetic engineering intrigued me from my childhood and in the way of pursuing it, I decided to take up Biotechnology as its first step. However My parents wished me to stay nearby and thus, that’s how I found BPDC. Since it was a relatively recently established campus compared to its Indian branches I had strolled in without much hopes. However, the newly found freedom here astounded me. BPDC gives its students the ultimate freedom to choose the timings and courses which they are comfortable with. Moreover, the availability of various clubs and workshops meant that I could finally fulfill my aspirations to learn some coding and few musical instruments and oh goodness, Sports is indeed a big deal here. I even managed to get hold of a few clubs involved with graphic designing and video editing. Coming back to my course, every week we have some or the other professors from various medical or bio science related fields paying a visit and giving sermons about latest methods being employed in their fields. The vibrant atmosphere of the campus makes me nostalgic about college whenever there is a holiday around. Events like Jashn and BSF need no formal introduction. Just take hold of any newspaper during last week of April and you can read all about it there.

Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani, Dubai campus is one of the leading universities of United Arab Emirates. The name itself is an evidence of quality of education provided by one of the world’s most reputed university, Birla institute of Technology and Science.It provides overall development of student, not only academic wise but also through co-curricular activities organized by various clubs of college some of which are Microsoft tech club, Reflexions (Photography Club) robotics club, astronomy club, fashion club, drama club etc. Faculty here is very much experienced and motivating. Professors here are always ready to help students and provide full knowledge of subject. Professors here are always ready to share the research work and vast knowledge with the students and guide them. The thing I love the most about the college is that teaching in classroom is never limited to course book. It is related to real life example which makes the content easy. Labs are well equipped in the campus and help student to be innovative and provide practical knowledge of subjects. Faculty here is very much experienced and motivating. The sports club provides a good recreation for students and help students to follow their passion along with the academics. I am glad to be a BITSIAN!!

Bits Pilani, which is located in Dubai International Academic City, is one of the best engineering colleges in my opinion. It’s been almost 3 months since I joined the institute and during these 3 months I have interacted with many of my batch mates and through which I have gained insights into many of our Asian cultures and have drastically improved my social bonding. Interacting with classmates from different fields, with varying degrees of experience has changed my outlook in many ways, including the way I handle situations and contribute as a team. One of the biggest advantages of studying in Bits Pilani Dubai Campus is, the faculties who have extensive knowledge and would help us in any extreme situations. Bits Pilani Dubai Campus also encourages entertainment, sports and other extra curriculum activities in students thus giving importance not only to academics, but also to many of students’ talents. I believe BITS recognizes the point that the world is not run by Engineers alone, but also by artists, innovators, Entrepreneurs, and businessmen with knowledge on technical aspects. Last month Bits had conducted an event known as “SPARKS”, which is a talent show giving opportunities for all year students, and I should say it was one of the best days in my life. Every year Bits conduct an intercollege competition “JASHN”, which is one of the greatest competitions among universities in UAE. Also there is “BSF – BITS SPORTS FESTIVAL”, which is a sports competition held by Bits collaborating with other universities. Bits Pilani Dubai Campus also has one of best facilities in UAE providing good and living atmosphere for students of all communities. Hostel life is one of the good experiences that a college student can get, if he/she is staying in Dubai. Students can indulge in both extra-curricular activities and academics as well. To conclude, BITS recognized and values each and every student with creative, innovative and talented minds giving them apt opportunity in their life. Life at BITS pilani is awesome.

BITS Pilani Dubai is one the leading institutes in UAE for engineering students. When I first applied for admission into the university, I was scared that being a student who is more into co-curricular activities rather than academics, I would be left behind due to the level of competition among students these days. At BITS, the curriculum is set in a way to encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities and the clubs allocate time for the same. Students are allowed to select courses and can customize their own timetable. This process not only allows the student to choose the subjects they are interested in but also helps them take their first step into adult life by making decisions for themselves. This later proves to be a big advantage for the students. Due to common perception of professors in universities today I was under the misconception that the professors in BITS would be strict as well, but I was wrong again. The faculty of BPDC is approachable and ready to help the students. Students can consult the professors during designated chamber hours and during lectures as well. Laboratories at BPDC are state of the art, fitted with the latest equipments and the trained lab assistants ensure that students can easily become familiar with the machines and the experiments. As a first year, I have a lot to learn about the campus and at BITS; our senior students are very helpful. They organize an event called IceBreakers, 2 weeks into the semester, to introduce all the clubs and the activities they offer. Short performances by the new students are also encouraged as they help us get to know each other. The seniors are very helpful and caring. They ask for short intros where they ask us about ourselves and both parties get to know each other. The seniors are ever-present to help us their juniors when the professors or other faculties can’t help us. They provide us with advice that helps us tackling some of the problems we as freshmen might face. Sparks is the first intra college competition organized by the EMC (event management committee). There are events on dance, singing, music and drama. The CIIED (center for incubation, innovation and entrepreneurship) at BPDC, organized a very interesting event known as Wolf of Wall Street. Students form teams of 4, and trade virtually in the USA stock market for 5 days with an initial given amount. The top 20 teams with most profit go for the second round. The Founder’s day is celebrated with a lot of joy as students dress up in traditional clothes. Expressions (the public speaking and literary club) also holds the inter year debate around the same time where you teams of all the four years go up against each other to see which year has the best talent. It’s another platform where people can showcase their talents. BSF (BITS Sports Festival) is an inter university competitions where teams of universities all around Dubai battle it out for the ultimate glory. Jashn is the inter college competition, where teams from all over the UAE compete in the fields of dance, singing, instrumentals, battle of DJ’s, battle of bands, and fashion show. This event is the highlight of each academic year, as it gets bigger and better each year. I am very excited to see how everything folds out in the next four years. I’m sure it will be great because the start has been very positive.

For a first year student, BITS Pilani Dubai has various choices for the engineering stream, taking into consideration the most recent fields, such as Civil Engineering and Biotechnology. The academics at BPDC is beyond par, but they also ensure that the students get to enjoy college festivities and be a part of every single one of them, such as Sparks 2016, Ethnic Day 2016 and even the most awaited and upcoming intercollege BITS Sports Festival 2016. The university staff is approachable and ever ready to help with any doubts or clarifications regarding academics or otherwise. I look forward at spending my next 4 years in this college amongst a lively atmosphere.

My name is Taanya Sunil and I am studying in BITS Pilani since August 2016. I personally do believe, that I have made the right decision in choosing this institution and I know that this institution is going to help make the best version of myself. What I do love about the institution, is that it not only focuses on education but also in enriching the social and cultural life of the students on campus through a vast variety of activities. There are many clubs such as dance, music, astronomy, robotics, photography, elocution, debate and many more that help students to showcase their talents. The institution has a big sports complex and encourages students to take part in many sports like badminton, table tennis, chess and so on. There are events and competitions held every fortnight in the institution to ensure that the students are never bored and they also help give the students a break from the studies. Events such as Ethnic day and Dandiya night and competitions such as Sparks help the students to make friends and build memories for the years to come. The faculty are extremely qualified and highly dedicated to educating students and help make the class a lot more fun through interactive sessions with the teachers. The faculty as well as the students are extremely helpful and try to build the best educational experience possible. The institution provides the opportunity for students to interact with teachers from other campuses of BITS present in Pilani, Hyderabad and Goa. Besides all this, one of the most important things that I learnt in the past few months is that a small donation can make a very big change. The institution has held blood donation campaigns in which over 200 students have donated their blood for the people in need. They have also held various events to spread awareness on breast cancer and have also donated to the less fortunate. It also provides monthly counselling sessions to the students who have personal issues. I am proud to be a BITSian and I do believe that BITS Pilani provides students with the experience and the overall development required to become self-reliant young professionals.

Ever wondered what heaven looks like? Every student has a dream of enrolling into a prestigious college, where marks don't define your intelligence and age your maturity, and four months after joining BPDC, I can surely say, God has his own way of answering unspoken dreams! Literally, I am enjoying every bit of BITS. At BITS, curricular and extra-curricular activities go hand in hand. Being an active member of every event, I have developed skills which once I could only dream of. From our seniors to our faculty, all seem like angels waiting to help us in our times of despair. I could have never imagined a fresher like me,being entrusted with responsibilities, allowing me to prove myself. It all started with the ice breakers which was our first interaction with our seniors. Ever since, life has become a rollercoaster which only goes up. Days changed to weeks and the most crucial part of the year commenced, the elections.Just like every coin has two faces, every soul began showing their helpful face. Slogan and posters everywhere.I too decided to toss my coin and now I can proudly say, my coin was one faced! Events followed faster than dominos, from toxic to dandiya night, each event had its own flavor. Being an ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) member, I got the opportunity to organize SYNERGY. Fun filled games with tons of prizes to be won, the huge number of participants clearly depicted the events success.ASME also hosted the bridge wreck wherein we had to build a bridge with spaghetti sticks ! "Sparks", as the name suggests, was one event that caught everyone off guard .it ranged from categories like dance, music, drama, fashion and even had a glimpse of the battle of bands. Then followed the founders day celebration which was celebrated as the Ethnic day. Boys and girls dressed so enthusiastically, that even the sky and the clouds were seen blushing ! A lots happened and there's even more to come. A fun filled tripped to Ice land Waterpark followed by BSF where our heroes will play for our college, showing what BITS stands for. Enguinity, Inter-Year Sports competition, Boxing competition, Artex, and Jashn are some of the many more to come. For me, life at BITS is like an open book. Writing a new story everyday, not waiting for the prefect moment but making every money perfect.I don't know how this book might end , but I shall make sure that it one to remember.
