Beirut International School, BIS

Beirut International School is an old institution with a new vision. Established in 1980, and during years of success, this school has developed from a Kindergarten to a high school offering the Lebanese Baccalaureate. The growth of this institution in size and programs would not have been complemented and implemented were it not for the increasing demand on the type of education that BIS provides.

BIS is an intellectually stimulating community responsive to the dynamics of its environment. It aims at serving the educational needs of Lebanon and the Middle East. BIS offers a high-quality education that prepares students to meet the growing challenges of a rapidly changing world. BIS encourages independence and self-discipline in an atmosphere of mutual respect and appreciation of diverse opinions and cultures.

Education means more than the perusal of a specific course of study. It has to do with the whole being. It is the harmonious development of the physical, mental, social and spiritual powers. “If the student fails to learn, the teacher fails to teach”; we believe that all children can and do learn. What makes Schools’ Role is not just examining students, but treating and developing as well. Assessments, exams, school reports, and grades…are not our OBJECTIVES by themselves! On the other hand, we use them as TOOLS to help in developing and educating students.
