The first university nucleus Adrar state originated in the year 1986 under Decree No. 118/86 dated 05/06/1986 modified and complemented by Decree No. 175/86 dated 05/08/86 and included the establishment of the National Institute of Higher Sharia Adrar to expand to Adrar University under the Executive Decree No. 01-269 of 30 Jumada II in 1422, corresponding to September 18, 2001, the amended Executive Decree No. 04-259 of 13 Rajab 1425 corresponding to August 29, 2004.
