We are very proud of the fact that we always consider our Omani heritage and Islamic values in everything that we endeavor to do. The AIS curriculum for English, Math, and Science is American based, and we strive to equip our learners to pursue a strong, bilingual academic foundation for lifelong learning.

Within our curriculum, we have a set of skills and standards that we ideally want our students to attain at the end of every phase in our school. The implementation of modern, skills-based methods of teaching and learning is always encouraged, and students become creative, critical thinkers as a result.

The Arabic, Islamic and Social Studies program uses the curriculum set out by the Ministry of Education, and the English, Science and Math program is based on an international American curriculum. The Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) series is used for English, Science, and Math In the Elementary phase; and in the Middle school, the Holt and McDougall Littell series is used for all three subject areas.

Baseline assessments are conducted at the start of every academic year. These assessments provide the staff with a useful picture of what a child knows or can do; as well as identifying possible gaps in their learning. This evidence is used to design subsequent teaching and learning activities for the English and Arabic Fast Track programs.

Here at AIS, we encourage our students to become independent thinkers, and they are coaxed into asking questions about topics above and beyond what is taught in the classroom. Learning should be interactive and fun, and our staff ensures that this happens frequently. As a school community, we understand that academic knowledge is essential, but it is also agreed that it is necessary to teach our students the skills associated with learning. This skills-based learning, we believe, will ensure that our students grow up to become independent adults, who will make positive contributions within the society that they find themselves living and working one day.

Building a healthy community environment is central to the philosophy of our school. Together with our staff, we are continuously trying to improve the culture of our school, strengthen the relationships between faculty and students, and foster feelings of inclusion within our school environment. Mutual respect is encouraged, and students know that there is always someone willing to listen.

Our school community also recognizes the social and emotional attachments that our parent body has to the school, and we understand that our parents have an essential role to play within the learning process of our students. We depend on our parent body to instill the values and norms that are required to ensure the smooth running of our school community, and we, in turn, try and reinforce these values throughout the school day. We are a smaller school that tries to provide enormous opportunities for our students, and we look forward to learning and growing with your child every day.
