HND Top-Up Construction & the Built Environment

This programme will top-up your HNC Construction to an HND qualification and will give you the opportunity to develop a professional career in the construction industry building surveying and land surveying. You will gain a more advanced understanding of construction by studying modules that focus on areas such as management principles and application, contractual procedures and procurement and project design, implementation and evaluation. You will also undertake a research project.

Aims

This programme will top-up your HNC Construction to an HND qualification to a degree. It will provide you with the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge required for a professional career in the construction industry, building surveying and land surveying. You will gain a more advanced understanding of construction by studying modules that focus on areas such as management principles and application, contractual procedures and procurement, conversion and adaption of buildings, project management and project design, implementation and evaluation. You will also undertake a research project.

Teaching & assessment

You will engage in classroom teaching and learning, site visits, group work, and independent study. Throughout the duration of the course, you will undertake numerous summative and formative assessments.

Interview Instructions

You will be invited to attend an interview at the College where your suitability to the course will be assessed.

Entry Criteria

• UCAS tariff points: 120
• You will hold the Higher National Certificate in Construction/Building Studies.
