Master of Accessible Communication
In a world driven increasingly by communication, making information and resources accessible to culturally and linguistically diverse communities, as well as people with physical impairments, is vital. Empowering these individuals and groups so that their messages are heard, and providing them with opportunities to access knowledge and information essential for creating new opportunities, will allow them to thrive.
This unique course will give you the skills you'll need to facilitate access to communication across a range of contexts for those whose access is limited. It draws on intercultural communication, translation and interpreting, accessibility, applied linguistics, editing and publishing, and disability studies. With such wide-ranging knowledge, you'll excel as a communication facilitator with specialised skills in accessible communication.
Part of what makes Macquarie future focused is that we allow you the freedom to explore your interests across a range of areas, rather than lock you in to a single, narrow field. So follow your passions and tailor your course to your needs and interests.
Units are what we call subjects. Most full-time students take four units – each worth a fixed number of credit points – per session.
Most postgraduate courses require a successfully completed Australian bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognised institution and may also require a specific grade point average (GPA). Our admissions team will determine whether your qualification meets the requirements.
