Higher Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering
The Aviation Market worldwide is growing with rising employment opportunities for licensed aircraft engineers. Airline fleets are growing and traveller numbers are on the increase. Statistics indicate in the near years to come; the aviation field will have a high demand for licensed engineers. EAU with the approval of the UAE GCAA (General Civil Aviation Authority) are licensed to conduct the B1.1 (Mechanical). This course is based on the CAR 66 syllabus. On successful completion of all the required modules at EAU, a COR (certificate of recognition / higherDiploma) will be issued. Upon completion of the COR, candidates needs to show evidence of at least 2 years’ experience in a part 145 approved organization to obtain the basic B1.1 licence from the GCAA.
Based on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), in the next 20 years, airlines will have to add 25,000 new aircraft to the current 17,000 strong commercial fleet. By 2026, the industry will need 480,000 new technicians to maintain these aircraft. Clearly, the international market has a huge shortage of LAME engineers. EAU’s AME programme is licensed by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and complies with the CAR66 (B1.1) syllabus. Our Students benefit from a concurrent higher Diploma recognised by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai.
EAU’s AME graduates will enjoy a high employability rate. Their career path is tailored towards becoming Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers. They may also work with airline engineering departments or support aircraft maintenance organisations. While working in the industry, EAU’s AME graduates have the option of enrolling into a relevant bachelor programme at EAU on a part-time basis.
