Refreshment Arabic For Non-Arabic Speakers

This course introduces the fundamental elements of the modern standard Arabic language within the cultural context of Arabic-speaking people. Emphasis is placed on the development of basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Upon completion, students should be able to comprehend and respond with grammatical accuracy to spoken and written Arabic and demonstrate cultural awareness.

This course is intended for those who are interested to learn and comprehend a basic knowledge of Arabic for Non-Arabic Speakers like expatriate, non-Arab employees, students and other personnel.

Training Objectives

• Apply a good working knowledge on refreshment Arabic for Non-Arabic speakers.
• Use the language to engage in interpersonal communication on well-practiced, familiar. topics using limited, formulaic language. Often rely on repetition and extra linguistic clues (e.g., gestures and tone of voice) to negotiate meaning.
• Discuss everyday life and daily routines, using simple sentences and familiar vocabulary.
• Use the language to present information to an audience through written and spoken forms on well-practiced, familiar topics.
• Understand words and concepts presented in the language in texts which use well-practiced, familiar topics and grammar structures. Often rely on repetition, one’s own background knowledge and extra linguistic cues (e.g., visuals or gestures) to interpret meaning
• Identify key details in a short, highly-contextualized audio text dealing with a familiar topic, relying on repetition and extra linguistic support when needed.
• Identify key details of highly predictable written texts.
• Extract basic information about familiar cultural topics from written or audio text.
• Provide basic information about familiar situations and topics of interest.
• Demonstrate an awareness of the relationship between the products, practices and perspectives of the cultures in the Arabic-speaking world.
• Compare and contrast patterns of behavior in the cultures of the Arabic-speaking world and the student’s native culture.

Course Duration and Assessment

The training is Eighteen hours. Participants are evaluated through Instructor observation of the reasonable performance of skills. Performance and written evaluations are available and optional for use.

Before the course

Each delegate will be asked to complete a Pre-Course Assessment Form to determine their current level and objectives for attending the course. The content of such Form will be used by the trainer only to give tailored training that is focused on each group of delegates.

At the end of the course

Each delegate will be asked to complete an Individual Development Plan and Vocational Completion Certificate
