Foundation Program

The aims of this program is to allow the students who don’t have appropriate credentials of high school certificate (Minimum of 60%) to progress into higher educational credited courses offered by MENA College of Management (MCM) or any other non-federal Higher Educational or vocational training institutions. Students, who successfully achieve the outcomes in the Foundation program will be considered to have reached a standard equivalent to the 60% in the high school certificate and will progress for subsequent success in higher education programs.

The program has been, designed to prepare potential students, who have previously been unable to join the university undergraduate programs, in the areas of English Language, Arabic Language, Information Technology, Mathematics, and General Study Skills. By the end of the program, the students will be able to:

• Generate proper written and verbal communication both in Arabic and English.
• Acquire the necessary study skills required for university life.
• Use the different skills to solve mathematical problems.
• Understand the fundamentals of Computers, software, hardware and the internet, and demonstrate a competence in working with MS Windows applications.

The mission of the Foundation Program is aligned with the College’s overall mission statement. The program will provide a well-structured and competent learning foundation for students, so that they can enroll in the highly rewarding career-oriented undergraduate degree programs at MENA College of Management (MCM) and other universities throughout the UAE.

The major goal of the Foundation program is to develop in students the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for success in college. In order to achieve that goal and honor MCM mission statement, the college is committed to providing a program that:

• Embraces diversity and tolerance for different points of view.

The anticipated learning outcomes for the Foundation Program as a whole are derived from the learning outcomes for the various program components. The learning outcomes of each component were designed according to CAA standards

Program Learning Outcomes

• Generate and verbalize written works in English by using correct English writing, reading, vocabulary, listening and speaking skills.
• Zenerate and verbalize written works in Arabic by using correct Arabic writing, reading, vocabulary, listening and speaking skills.
• Demonstrate the use of numerical and mathematical skills to solve various mathematical problems within the areas of Algebra, Geometry and Statistics.
• Produce work using knowledge of computer hardware; file management and standard PC software programs.
• Apply study skills necessary for success at the college level.
