This qualification is aimed at providing learners with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to support paediatric first aid. It is suitable for those working in an Early Years setting or Primary School and for parents and carers.
Topics covered include: the roles and responsibilities of the Paediatric First Aider, assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness and assisting a casualty who is suffering from injury and illness.
All successful students will be issued with a Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
There are no entry requirements for this qualification. However, it is not recommended for pregnant women due to practical elements of the course.
All learners participating in this course must confirm their knowledge through practical demonstrations and short responses to written/oral questioning throughout the course.

The course is valid for 3 years. However, it is also recommended that learners refresh their knowledge every year.
