

The Level 2 Certificate in An Introduction to Early Years Education and Care prepares learners to work with children between birth and 5 years, with knowledge of children up to 7 years.
This course is suitable for those who are in their first 2 years of working/volunteering in an Early Years setting or have no previous experience. Learners must be at least 16 years old.
Learners will need to be working or volunteering on a practical placement in an under 5’s setting over the course duration. All units covered during the course will be internally assessed using a range of methods. This will include direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task. Students must have access to a laptop and Internet.
Learners will be taught in a classroom setting by experienced and knowledgeable tutors. You will learn about the role of the Early Years Practitioner, child development, the importance of play, legislation and much more.
Upon achievement of this qualification, learners can progress into various job roles such as teaching assistant in a nursery or Early Years classroom in a school.
This qualification allows progression on to the Level 3 Early Years Educator qualifications and other Level 3 qualifications relating to child care.
