NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate (E-Learning)

The NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate is a qualification for those with fire safety responsibilities in the workplace. Completing this qualification will give you the academic requirements to apply for Technician Membership of IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) and Associate membership of IIRSM (International Institute of Risk and Safety Management).

Learning Outcomes

Fxplain briefly the moral, legal and financial reasons for promoting good standards of health and safety. Describe the key features and appropriate content of an effective health and safety policy. Outline the legal and organisational health and safety roles and responsibilities of employers, managers, supervisors, employees and other relevant parties. Outline appropriate control measures to minimise fire risks. Explain the requirements for ensuring access for the fire service is provided and maintained. Outline matters to be considered in a risk assessment of dangerous substances and measures to be taken to control risk. Carry out fire risk assessments of most low risk workplaces and identify the range of fire protective and preventative measures required.

Certification

• Successfully completing the NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate leads to Technician Membership of IOSH.
• Delegates are awarded the Certificate on successful completion of three units; IGC1, FC1 and FC2. Units IGC1 and FC1 are taught units each assessed by one two-hour written examination. Candidate scripts are marked by external examiners appointed by NEBOSH.
• Unit FC2 is assessed by one four-hour fire risk assessment carried out in the candidate's workplace. The assessment is marked by the accredited course provider and externally moderated by NEBOSH. Candidates will be required to complete the FC2 assessment within 14 days of sitting the examination for units IGC1 and/or FC1.
