Obstetric Emergencies Workshop

NeoConsult's Obstetric Emergency Workshop is designed to theorise practice and develop the clinical knowledge and skills in emergency situations. This course focuses on pregnant women and adopts a structured approach to dealing with obstetric emergencies.

• Antepartum Haemorrhage (APH)
• Severe PET
• Cord presentation and cord prolapse
• Breech
• Uterine inversion/Uterine rupture
• Postpartum Haemorrhage (PPH)
• Sepsis

On completion of the course, you should be able to

• Discuss risk factors and potential complications of PPH
• Discuss the risk factors for Uterine Inversion and Uterine Rupture
• Describe management of cord presentation/cord prolapse
• Understand signs and symptoms of PET and potential complications
• Describe management of APH
• Define diagnosis of sepsis in the obstetric patient
