According to the World Health Organization (WHO:2004), healthcare workers should be equipped with the requisite knowledge, skills and attitudes for good infection control practices. This includes: regular training programs for essential infection control practices and periodic re-training or orientation of staff.
This one-day course has been developed to provide you with up-to-date information about locally and globally approved infection control practices for healthcare workers.

On completion of the course, you should be able to
- Identify the components of the chain of infection
- Explain the correct sequence of donning and removing of personal protective equipment
- Demonstrate competence in the correct hand hygiene technique in a simulated situation
- Describe how to choose appropriate disinfection and/or sterilisation methods for critical, semi-critical and non-critical instruments
