My alma mater! I loved my time at Monash, what a wonderful experience to be a student there. Excellent lecturers and professors, who are caring and want you to succeed in your studies. Wonderful and vast student societies to get involved in, great facilities.

German course is the best in Victoria. Had different levels based on prior knowledge and didn't throw everyone in together. Education is a hard thing to teach- I think it could have been better taught. Class sizes were good, course material- not all textbooks were needed. Sometimes you felt you had to get them because the lecturer made them and not because they were the best out there. Elective choices were excellent. Timetabling changes were a challenge, I had to learn the system , put in preferences early and hope for the best.

The lecturers and tutors are very enthusiastic, they promote interactive lessons and inspire discussion. The class sizes are usually really good sizes too, not too small so you hear crickets, but not so big you can't get a word in, roughly 15-20 people. you can almost always get the class times you want too, the timetabling site is easy to navigate and you get enough preferences so that you almost always get your first or second choice. I've never had an isssue with my timetable in four years.

The chance to learn amongst international students is a great thing at Monash, I believe it's really important for local Australian students to understand different cultures and learning styles.

Monash has a good reputation as a university. My course (journalism) has the advantage of offering its students placements before they graduate, giving them the relevant experience to enter the media industry. The course material is generally quite good, although the uni does rely a bit on electronic resources (online books) at times which can be a bit annoying. I generally find the uni to be flexible with its time tabling, as many students who work part-time can reschedule classes to suit them.

The Arts faculty are great. Very enthusiastic and they offer a very diverse array of subjects. I especially enjoyed the literature courses, they allow you to be critical and creative. The people you meet are also really great.

The strengths of my course is its practical aspect. As each subject is involved with doing some experiments in the laboratories which helps the students to understand the subject much better in most of the cases. I am not sure about the weakness of my course. The quality of my course is totally good. The class size, course material, range of electives and flexibility of time tabling are reasonable.

The Monash Arts degree has a lot of flexible study options and great opportunities for overseas study and scholarships. As a Spanish student I was lucky enough to spend a semester in Spain and a semester in Mexico. Engineering faculty is one of the largest in Australia and allows you to do a try out a couple of branches of engineering in your first year and then select your specialization in second year, although staff layoffs in recent years means the choice of final year electives and projects has decreased. Monash Clayton is a big campus with excellent facilities, although seems very crowded at times. Could do with a much bigger campus centre with more cafes/shops.

My classes are great, but I think it's an important part of uni that there's also opportunities for socialising. Not only between classes, but there's plenty of organised events, not to mention clubs and societies to join. It means that you can get to know people both inside and outside of class, giving you something else to look forward to than just more studying.

The best thing about Monash University, aside from the opportunity to study and learn from a course that only this uni offers, is the social element. I have to say that from comparison to other uni and from taking upon other students from other universities to Monash's social events, parties and balls, many have complemented how exciting and fun Monash must be for us. I've heard multiple comments saying if only their uni's offered such celebrations, it would help unite students together and become friends.

The flexibility of study options. Doing two business degrees offered me the opportunity to not only specialise in two streams from that discipline, but I was also able to incorporate a number of other units into my degree to break the monotony. As such, in conjunction with studying economics, management, marketing etc, I've been able to study philosophy (which I completed a minor in), classical studies and history.
