Once enrolled at Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University, you will automatically have access to the university libraries. Located at the Lyon and Bourg-en-Bresse campuses, the university libraries are great spaces for work and research. Students can also consult and borrow books by simply using their student cards.

There are a large number of sports available to students at Lyon 3. You can sign-up for sport when enrolling online or upon arrival at the university, the cost is 36€ (for one year). You will be given a sports card, which you will need to present at the beginning of each sport session. If you are not a European Economic Area citizen, you will have to apply for a Student Visa before arriving in France and submit Lyon 3 acceptance letter to the French Consulate in your country.

Students already covered by their country’s social security should obtain the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) from their social security service provider before coming to France. The EHIC must be valid for the duration of your stay in Lyon. This card ensures that students have health insurance in Europe, and also includes health cover for trips within the European Economic Area and Switzerland.

Lyon is a large city and finding the right accommodation can sometimes be difficult. It is a good idea to start looking for a place to live before you arrive and, if necessary, book some temporary accommodation until you find something permanent. Exchange students have access to the Lyon III International Association that provides students with assistance in finding accommodation in the CROUS university residences, private residences or with a host family.

It serves as a useful link between students and the residences. There is a basic service fee of 20€. Added costs include: 30€ application fee and 350€ deposit (compulsory reservation deposit that will be reimbursed at the end of your stay).

In France, residences are subject to a housing tax that is calculated according to the amount of rent paid by the student. As a general rule, this amount is around the equivalent of one month’s rent (this can vary depending on the suburb you live in). This tax is due on the 1 January, the year following the beginning of your tenancy. As a result, you may receive a tax assessment notice once you have already returned to your home country.

Housing insurance is compulsory in France, therefore, in order to find a place to live, students are required to take out housing insurance as soon as they arrive in the country. It covers public liability required by students to validate their enrolment at Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University. As a student in France you can benefit from receiving rent assistance*. This payment will appear in your account each month, but note that it will take approximately two months before you start receiving payments.

After having signed your rental contract, you can start your rent assistance application online. You will need to fill out a form, print and send it off along with any other documents required. If you are not a European citizen, you will also need to send a photocopy of both sides of your valid residence permit. You may be charged a reservation fee for certain residences and apartments. These fees vary between residences and agencies and cover costs related to the management of the property, the state of the property upon your arrival and departure, repair work to communal areas, etc.

You will be required to pay a deposit for your rental property, which will cover any potential costs relating to damage to the property or unpaid rent. This sum usually amounts to one or two month’s worth of rent and should be paid when the contract is signed and before moving into the residence. Your deposit will be reimbursed within the two months following your departure (if the state of the property has been deemed satisfactory).

At Jean Moulin University Lyon 3, the exceptional quality of education combined with the unwavering support from staff has truly transformed my son's academic journey.

Terrible administrative service. Not recommended for international students or Erasmus because they do not take us into consideration. In short, a disappointment.

Professors good or very good for some, but the administration has clearly tarnish the reputation of this University which does not make life easy for students ...

Poor Jean MOULIN, he must be turning in his grave. Giving his name to a University whose administration is crap. Its slowness and incompetence poor. Some teachers Deans and members of the National Front. The paradox for Mr. REX death for these idiots. They waste free schooling for students. They did not question by arrogance.

Teachers in all very good (if the teaching of some poor, many are excellent). Only small problem for an educational program not always consistent between what was agreed on platelets and the reality of teaching. BU nice though too small for the crowds partial, and if some books are outdated, the whole is very suitable. pleasant living environment (in the former Tobacco Factory), very accessible (metro, tram, bus, vélo'v) and generally clean. Corporate website not always very ergonomic and that would need a good shot of refreshment, but already quite well. However, the administration (for law school) is terribly bad. The secretaries, in addition to be far too often incompétent.e.s, paradoxically méprisant.e.s particularly to students and teachers, and imbued with themselves. Successfully find the reception open at relevant times (that is to say, outside the traditional class schedules) is a miracle. When you go there ask his question, we will be entitled to a secretary that blows air exasperate before (badly) you switch / answer without bothering to close its Angry Bird app or Facebook page. I speak here only of the administration of law, but of the language faculty has the reputation of being even worse. Finally, if the university is generally clean, that's not counting the space toilet, which is poorly maintained and regularly filthy. Missing too often paper to dry hands, dry hands do not work well or badly, many doors are not lockable. Conclusion: a really bad college to the bottom (lessons provided), but loses much of his administration because of issues mainly, and maintenance of its sanitary secondarily.

Good university for the diversity it offers but what a mess in the organization and especially the administration. Rarely aware of the proposed activities must be thoroughly committed to know them.

This is the worst school I have encountered in my life. As an erasmus student, it has been 5 months and they still have not processed the grades. The school is dirty with discussing bathrooms, professors are rude and do not teach relevant information. Most of the professors who teach English courses barely speak English, and are disorganized. The administration is the WORST. They can even lose your test and say you never gave it to them. UGH!

wear their choice of admiration at the University Jean Moulin Lyon 3 is not the result of a chance because this university is living up to its reputation and I trust that I will continue my law study in this establishment

Beautiful university. Almost all the teachers I had were awesome. I never had any problems with the administration but I know many people who have. Moreover, while most teachers are great, some are very poor in ch ***.

A faculty with potential but ossified by an incompetent administration. I'm right, most professors are brilliant and exciting there, except some poor embittered and imbued lawyers of person who constantly strutting before us. BU is fine, despite an obvious lack of space (number of people coming to BU other faculties Lyon III ...) As for the administration, it is a real disaster (hence my note). On unbearable shrews who despise allow teachers and students, taking us for idiots despite their obvious intelligence deficit ... Do not expect any thing from them: they are disorganized to be hallucinating and incompetence . Wait to leave despite good aspects, the whole is tarnished by this administrative scourge.
