Aim & Objectives

This 30 hours course is designed to equip delegates with a general understanding of:

• How to audit or assess the effectiveness of an EMS
• Applicable environmental aspects and impacts, legislation and regulations
• The role of EMS auditors and the standards acceptable to 3rd-party certification and similar levels.

Course Objectives

On completion of this course delegates will be able to:

• Understand the purpose of an Environmental Management System (EMS)
• Understand the requirements of ISO 14001:2015
• Purpose, content and interrelationship of ISO 14000, IS014001,ISO14004 & ISO 19011
• Interpretation of the requirements of ISO 14001 in the context of an audit
• Roles & responsibilities of auditors and lead auditors.
• Planning & conducting an audit in accordance with ISO19011
• Reporting the audit, including writing valid, factual and value-adding non-conformity reports
• Undertaking audit follow-up activities, including evaluating the effectiveness of corrective action
• Understanding the role of Accreditation Bodies, Certification Bodies etc
