Advanced laparoscopic course addressing the principles of optimizing the set-up and progress of advanced procedures. The course has a significant hands-on component for familiarising the participants with the skill-set necessary to perform complex tasks. The topics are varied and cover a wide scope of elective and emergency conditions and procedures that face the general as well as the specialized laparoscopic surgeon. The candidates are made familiar with the technical aspects through short interactive talks and detailed discussions of techniques utilizing extensive video material. Skills consolidation is achieved through practical hands-on sessions using well-designed animal tissue models which have been used in many courses over more than ten years.
