Foundation Program
The ADVETI Foundation Program (AFP) provides a unique multi entry program providing students with the academic language and numeracy skills necessary to pursue tertiary level education in the UAE.
The programs offered at ADVETI have been specifically designed in consultation with Abu Dhabi industry and businesses to ensure that ADVETI graduates are employable.
The Foundation Program has three stages. Each Stage has two components Maths and English which account for 20% and 80% of the program respectively. Students’ progress within the course is measured every three weeks by assessment of the content covered and with a final exam at the end of each Stage in Terms 1-3.
Both the English and Maths component of the AFP uses a competency based curriculum. Teachers teach towards weekly objectives and students demonstrate their competency in these objectives by completing exercises administered through online system called Learning Material System (LMS).
In addition to classroom delivery, students have access to online materials to enhance their overall learning opportunities. Students are expected to pass both the Math and English to progress to the next Stage.
Successful students exit with an EmSat score of 875 which is sufficient for students to gain entry to all ADVETI programs.
The program is based on three terms with progression between stages. A student cannot stay in the program for more than one academic year.
