Holmesglen Institute of TAFE was officially opened in February 1982 on the former site of Holmesglen Constructions in Batesford Road, Chadstone. The Institute was established under the Post-Secondary Act (1978) to provide a range of general TAFE programs for the community and basic training for all the trades associated with the building and construction industry.
Holmesglen is one of the largest providers of vocational and higher education in Victoria.
Since 1982, Holmesglen has grown from a delivery of 90 programs to 7,000 students, to a unique multi sectoral provider offering over 600 programs to more than 50,000 students. Holmesglen delivers internationally and nationally across four major campuses: Chadstone, City, Moorabbin and Waverley.
Holmesglen invests to ensure that students have access to the best possible education and training facilities available.
I've studied at Holmesglen for the last 3 years. I've found the environment to be extremely supportive and positive. Whilst there is an expectation for independent learning, the tutors and lecturers are more than happy to assist you through your course. I love that the school offers a range of qualifications. I've found that the learning commons is amazing. Always a place to study privately with current IT equipment. All in all, Holmeslgen has been great for me.
By Michaela Ronke | October, 2017A complete and utter shamozzle of a school at the city campus!! Computers and printers that don't work and are not serviced because "it costs too much". City campus teachers in advanced diploma of building course refusing to help students. Basically a money grabbing institution that could not give a rats about you once they have your money!! Just don't even bother!
By Samantha Wilson | October, 2017Absolutely loving Holmesglen on campus - great experiences so far, great attentive and supportive staff, great campus and surrounds, loved my first day of classes yesterday and orientation last Wednesday too! Can't wait for the upcoming months :) I also have a great team of classmates too.
By Erzsébet Bodor Smith | July, 2017Useless library computers block most websites, so I can't do research for my classwork. Don't expect to do research on the homesglen computers. Wasting my time.
By AdultGamer | July, 2017I have been in Holmesglen since almost 3 years ago. I was happy with my Certificate 3 and Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. Most teachers there were really supportive and helpful with both knowledge and practices. HOWEVER! I am doing my Bachelor of ECT, and I have to say that I am SO disappointed.
By Hanying Catherine Xu | June, 2017As a international student, once you enroll in, NEVER expect any support for your sake. Administration staffs in international center including manager, they just care about their rules, which are not based on any regulations. If you study there, you never get any information about the enrollment condition and tuition fee changes. DO NOT consider this institution unless you have absolutely no choice otherwise you are going to need to take care a lot more things other then studying itself by yourself.
By Khan Shin | June, 2017I had an excellent experience at holmesglen whilst completing a bachelor of nursing. The continuous support and encouragement was exceptional and the Knowledge base from all educators assisted with my ongoing professional development. The staff went above and beyond for their students and I found I was always prepared for placements - the simulation centre was invaluable and aloud us to learn things you can't learn in a classroom.
By Kristen Elise | May, 2017Holmesglen staff need to get their shit together, it's the worst place to study for international students
By Lakshan Weerasekara | February, 2017As an agent and former student for Holmesglen TAFE, I would say I did my first-year studies in Holmesglen TAFE in 2002. It was very good experience and support was excellent. Now I am really proud of to promote Holmesglen among Sri Lankan students because I am part of the well reputed Institute in Melbourne Australia.
By Harsha Perera | January, 2017Nice environment, helpful lecturer, friendly colleagues. Excellent experience to study here.
By Willy Rendy | November, 2016Had the worst experience ever when I was doing my cookery course at holmesglen! Ended up dropping out due to the teachers barely assisting you when you ask for help, this campus also tries to fit 40 people into 1 small classroom, most students don't even have access to tables to take notes on during lecture classes! Holmesglen seems to care about your money than ur future!!! Staff are also aggressive!
By Omer Seker | October, 2016Bad experience ever with Holmesglen. Same organisation yet 3 ladies saying 3 different things. Get your staff educated first Holmesglen. Poor experience they keep me waiting 10min on call. I wrote so many mails yet no reply. Not professional at all. All they matter is money. I'm glad not to be part of Holmeshlen.
By Yashna Nunkoo | June, 2016Most teachers where lovely in the education department but one in particular was down right rude and mean. Puts her students down and telling them work is shit. Happened to me and it made me feel really bad and have lost confidence in all of my writing.
By Tiffany Heatherill | January, 2016Holmesglen is waste of time, waste of money In conclusion: it's the worse place to study .
