Currently, CUI has the status of a public sector degree awarding higher education institution, and was given charter by the Federal Government in August 2000.
CUI aspires to be both one of the top research institutions and one of the best higher education providers in the country. It envisages becoming a university by the name of “COMSATS University”. The vision being pursued by the CUI is to become one of the top 100 universities in the developing world. Excellent learning opportunities but grading system is not good, and the career development center is openly refuses to help.

The Institute lacks the Administrative skills to manage international student's affairs as well as their welfare. The CIIT is still battling with local language (Urdu) as as means of teaching and Learning and the students are not cooperating in terms of class communication when it comes to teacher-students interaction. One most striking problem of concern is how CIIT is treating post graduate students like undergraduates. The environment has not been favourable for most of the international students and this has ultimately affect their academic performances.

An average university, there are very less teachers who can make the lectures interesting, other are just boring. Once you are settled in you can easily manipulate their disciplinary rules. If you are coming here for IT related courses FAST university will be a better option. The local transport by which you can get to this place is very pathetic.
Air conditioning system is brilliant here, but semester fee increases after every semester. Not Highly recommended.

I have no experience with other universities yet so in my experience it is a good university. But their teaching method needs to be reviewed. They don't teach students how to survive in the market.
