To become world class educational and research institute and contribute effectively towards building up indigenous and technological capabilities for sustainable socio-economic development. To equip our undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students with advance knowledge through collaborative opportunities emerged from linkages with academia, industry and government.
Industrial and technological development in Pakistan has been quite rapid since its independence and particularly during the sixties and seventies. The main fields of development have been related to the enhancement of agriculture, establishment and up-gradation of industries and exploration of its indigenous resources. This development has resulted in increased demand for qualified engineers in different fields in addition to other professionals. In order to meet this demand and to provide an opportunity of engineering education to the people hailing from the interior of Sindh Province, Sindh University Engineering College was established in 1963 as a constituent college of University of Sindh (then spelt 'Sind') in Jamshoro about 15 km. from Hyderabad on the right bank of river Indus.
Hostel facilities are also available for about 1000 students on the campus both male and female; which are located at walking distance from the teaching departments. These hostels are equipped with necessary facilities including bathrooms, reading rooms, game rooms, dining halls, etc. Other facilities available for the students include medical care, transport, games and recreation, Library and so on.

One of the best universities of Sindh and all over Pakistan. It provides facilities for students to study in Engineering and Science disciplines like civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, environmental engineering, computer system and software engineering, biomedical engineering and many more. The environment here is pretty much good and peaceful. It has transportation facilities fr students of Hyderabad city and many nearby towns too. For students from other distant cities there is hostel facility. It has more than eight hostels for students and teachers. There is a good security system in university. Beautiful infrastructure and neat and clean classrooms, roads, departments and hostels. There are alot of Canteens in University these provides fresh foods to students and teachers here in day time and night time.

A good place to earn degree only not a great place to develop a good human or leader or businessman engineer. Need massive improvement in education system and teachers training

Being there I learnt a lot. Its wonderful institute of Sindh. One thing that lacks here is the practical work. That is not done according to teaching plan. On a scale of 10 its 8 in my views. If you are opting this institute go on with personal interest and self motto of learning then surely you will earn a better place in academics.

Not much determined to work and innovation. Teachers just teach as a formality. Labs are like graveyard and practicals are just jokes. There's a huge room for improvement.
