Mountain View College (MVC) is a Seventh-day Adventist institution envisioned to serve the educational needs of the young people in the South Philippines. However, as the College grew, many students from all over the Philippines and from foreign countries came.
The College officially opened its educational doors to the young people in 1953. It held its first graduation exercises in 1957. Located on a 2,500-foot plateau, MVC faces Mt. Kalatungan and Mt. Kitanglad. The College sits on 1,024 hectares, which includes farmlands, forests, and ranch lands ideal for industries and, more importantly, for training ground for students’ hands-on experiences. The land has an ample supply of water that makes it possible for MVC to have its own hydroelectric plants providing the campus populace with enough electricity besides abundant water supply for all college facilities.
Since the start of operation, the farms have provided not only additional revenue for the College but also work for many students. The work departments that provide work for the students include the construction, the hydroelectric plants, the farm, the cafeteria, the motor pool, the food factory, the student canteen, the store, the dormitories, the library, and the offices.
The College engages the services of full-time and part-time teaching faculty members and staff members in the industrial and support service departments. The College faculty and staff are provided housing facilities and enjoy the prescribed fringe benefits provided by the Seventh-day Adventist organization and those mandated by the labor laws of the country.
MVC has been a boarding college since its beginning. It has dormitories which houses the students. The college cafeteria provides more than a thousand students with vegetarian meals each day throughout the school year.

The history of MVC is a story of steady growth. From fifty-five enrollees in its first year of operation, the student population has grown to more than 2,000 students. Thus, to answer the growing population and felt needs of the youth of the new millennium, new facilities were established – a bigger and more modern library, a high school building, a new School of Nursing building, additional dormitories, a Student Center, and other facilities. Also, the SN Annex for the junior and senior nursing students was put up in Valencia City.
A strong faculty-upgrading scheme is a priority in the faculty development program of the College. It aims to develop the faculty towards strong academic qualifications and towards strengthening professional status in the academic community. Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
I recently got enrolled into MVC and it has been by far the best experience I’ve ever had with a school. Everyone knows exactly what to do and points you into the right direction. I got enrolled last minute but still got two of the pre classes I needed. The professors are really very nice and care about their students. The staff in general is super helpful and the campus is beautiful and in a very nice area.
I am looking forward to getting the education I want at a reasonable price.

MVC is pretty bad as far as veteran services go. Absolutely 0 help, they don't listen and talk over you. I already have a degree, I just needed some info on something these people should be well informed about. Don't go here if you're a veteran, you wait forever for pointless "help".

The Staff is careless ,they dont bother to help students to enroll or hand out good info on how the process is , Or guide them , its as if they are there from 9 to 5 & Some one that iknow that goes there says the schools vibe is dead so Your pretty much on your own , thats why they make private colleges for people who dont like these schools

This place makes it beyond difficult to graduate with your associates. They lack classes (especially traditional ones) and most of the classes they do have are reserved for high school dual credit students ONLY. So it's practically a fight to the death for the few remaining classes. There is constantly a different reason why they won't let you register for classes on time by the way. This place is out of control.

I've been coming here for a while and I really like it. Works great with my work schedule and the teachers are great. For the most part, the kids that come here seem like they want to learn. Of course it's a little more crowded in the beginning of the semester but gets less crowded as the semester continues. Overall, not a bad place to get a college education. :)

Mountain view college is a joke!! The school and staff are people who obviously hate their jobs. Especially the woman who work at the cashiers office. The old white lady that works in the cashiers office had the nerve to scream at me and then claim it was due to the fact that her microphone was "off." How can you call yourself a community college when you have no interest in the community what so ever! All you care about is the communities money. I'm literally to the point to where if necessary I will record and take it to the media to expose this school.

I have had nothing but GREAT experiences here! This is my 5th semester at MVC. When I first came to this school August 2015 I couldn't stop telling all my friends about how this school feels different from El Centro or Eastfield. The professors I've come across at MVC will and have gone out of their way to help me succeed. The numerous times I've gone to see an advisor they've always made sure my questions were answered, I got all the help I needed, and made sure I was in the right path. The only issue I've ever had was with the woman that oversees the testing center, she has a little bit of an attitude problem, but everyone else there is nice. I've never had an issue with admissions, registration, financial aid, parking, testing, nothing.

Worst experience I've ever had with a school. I wanted to drop a class and they said not until I turned in every single transcript from previous schools. Mind you I've graduated and received multiple degrees and was only going to this school for fun to learn Spanish. I don't even have access online to go back and order transcripts without playing phone tag with people. The lady hung up on me , the said she didn't when I called back. The next day I was promised a call back but instead received an email saying she tried to call which I think is a complete lie. I am so disappointed by this school. I have never spoke with such rude people at an educational institution. Please stay away from this school!

Most faculty do not care or pay attention. In person you might be able to get help from a few of the people that actually do their job, they are few but they are very nice. However the vast majority will be no help. If you want assistance, make sure you seek it personally. Phone calls will be ignored, and online services are not fully useful.
