We are proud of our students and what they achieve. Whether they go on to university, go into employment or join an Apprenticeship, we know that BCoT has given them the skills they need to succeed in their next steps. Students excel at BCoT – all part of a unique combination of expert teaching from industry specialists, state-of-the-art facilities, work experience, unrivalled employer links and a happy and supportive environment. This means that our students can leave us with confidence and skills for life. As you can see from our impressive results, we are one of the best colleges in the country for Apprenticeships. Alongside this, our Level 3 achievement is on a par with the best colleges in the local area – so academic achievement is assured at BCoT.
We want to ensure that every learner who studies with us achieves. We are passionate about student development and want to provide the best resources and facilities that we can to ensure our learners succeed. Our Level 3 courses are the equivalent to A Levels and with an achievement rate of 89%, academic standards at BCoT match those of other local colleges. Regardless of what level you are at, we will always encourage you to achieve your best and will help you build confidence that will see you climbing through the levels to fulfil your potential. We promote a more adult learning environment where you work with your teachers to manage your learning. You will have deadlines, homework and timetabled lessons but will be expected to use your free time responsibly.
BCoT offers a different way of learning. While some people thrive from classroom based learning, others prefer a more ‘active’ learning style. Our vocational courses combine academic study alongside practical application – so you get the ‘know-how’ and the ‘how-to’ under one approach. Our courses are not just exam based – you will be continually assessed throughout your course. With formal assessments each term you will get an ongoing indicator of how you are progressing with plenty of time to make improvements. Our teachers not only bring their industry knowledge to your lessons, but are also very creative in the tools they use to help you understand your subject. For example, the lecturer might flip your learning and get you to watch a video before your lesson or you might do online quizzes and surveys on your phone to build your understanding.
We work with a wide range of local and national employers to make sure you get the best opportunities. As part of your course you will hear from guest speakers about career opportunities, the latest technologies and how they got into the industry. Some of our course areas are also linked with highly regarded companies in their industries such as Sandown MercedesBenz (Automotive), IMechE – Institute of Mechanical Engineers (Engineering) and Mike Taylor Education (Barbering). We have looked at ways to make it easier for students to study alongside work and life commitments and want to provide courses that fit with students, rather than the other way round. Because of this need, we've created a suite of blending learning courses to make learning more flexible.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
Hardly surprisingly that their OFSTED report is so poor. Incompetent staff, lack of communication, unwilling to help those who want to help themselves, refusing to accept responsibility for their mistakes. Some members of staff have a sarcastic and rude manner when talking to 'students',especially when students have qualifications of a degree level, they seem to be shocked and continually question this. They are certainly not very helpful in sorting out problems to the point that they could be seen as discriminatory.
I am shocked and appalled with my experience and I'm very disappointed.
Would not recommend to anyone!!
Avoid!

Fantastic place to learn, whether you're a full time learner or part time mature student. The industry trained lecturers make the learning experience extra special.

I would like to thank the staff of Basingstoke College of Technology for their hospitality towards myself and my organisation Parability. The staff have been most helpful to both Parability and myself, in making both our Parability Fest event such a great success and in helping myself as a wheelchair user by moving things around for me and assisting me in the canteen by bringing my tray to the table. I would recommend this as a college great disabled etiquette and standards. Please pass this on to all your staff for their great hospitality.

Very enjoyable and fun place to be. BCoT has been a great stepping stone to kick start my career. I am an apprentice that works at the college as well, and have enjoyed my 2 and a half years here so far!

BCoT has been an amazing place for me. I came when I was 16, I did an apprenticeship, I completed my Level 2 and Level 3, and now I've been here for over 5 years and I work full time! Incredible place to work, everyone's so friendly and I'm so pleased I chose BCoT as a place for me to begin my career...

My nephew just finished an electrical course here and I am rather disappointed that they have given him no help in finding an apprenticeship, this has affected his moral and he is depressed, one member of staff actually told his parent that he would not recommend him for an apprenticeship as he was too quiet and this could look like he wasn't interested, utter rubbish.....they need to help students which they do when Ofsted are visiting but at all other times staff cant be bothered, I would advise any student thinking of attending this college to go somewhere else as the college do not care about whether you progress.
