Our students succeed and achieve top grades and national competition success in increasingly high numbers with recent data placing our success rates for young people well within the top 10% of further education colleges nationally – a super result for our students. Most students progress directly into work or higher education once they complete with us. Many local employers work closely with us for their staff and apprenticeship recruitment and value highly the standards of work readiness our students demonstrate.
Here you will be treated as an individual and not just a face in a crowd. We recognise that your next step could shape the rest of your life and it’s our job to make sure you have the right skills, qualifications and guidance to get there.
If you plan to join us straight from school, you will join a study programme that includes work experience and work-related projects as well as GCSEs in English and/or Maths if you don’t already have them at 9 – 4 (A* – C), to set you firmly on the career path of your choice. We’ll make sure you are thoroughly guided and supported along the way.
Of course college is not just about studying – you will be making new friends and hopefully taking advantage of the other opportunities available whether sports, charity events, our record label or College Council. You may be a budding entrepreneur in which case we have special events with input from large and small businesses to help you excel.
The College also offers a wide range of qualification courses suitable for adults who are looking to change careers, improve their prospects or learn something new for enjoyment. The College is open several evenings in the week and there is a thriving Saturday programme that includes a range from the hundreds of leisure courses from which to choose.
If you are looking to gain a Higher Education qualification or degree, studying locally makes real financial sense and with excellent quality too confirmed by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. We offer a growing number of Higher qualifications, Foundation and Full Degrees accredited by University of Chichester, University of the Arts London (UAL) and professional organisations such as AAT for Accountancy – right here on your doorstep.

When I first started college I was very shy and didn’t have any GCSE’s. East Surrey College really helped my confidence and helped me to grow as a person and I now feel like I can see a future in a career I want to follow. I studied IT level 2 and 3 and I’ve really enjoyed learning about coding and website design. Within this course I have learnt a lot about the different aspects of IT and I’m looking forward to a future with IT. The support my tutors gave me has been amazing and I’ve really appreciated it through these 3 years that I have been here. The facilities here at the college are great and I would highly recommend this College to anyone!

I have attended 3 business workshops this week and I have had a brilliant experience. Very welcoming staff and warm atmosphere. I’ve already recommended ESC to my friend to search for workshop and attention. Absolutely fantastic place to be!

I’m writing this review on behalf of Grant Reeves, currently on the life and living skills course within the SEND. Grant is really enjoying the course and his time at the college. The tutors are really nice and welcoming especially Sally, as Grant started late in the term. Would definitely recommend this college.

Awful college I wouldn't recommend going here from my experience; the tutor simply did the coursework for students he liked and offered no help whatsoever to students he didn't definitely would not recommend attending this college.

My daughter has just completed
her first year a ESC.
What a fantastic place, she is on the life skills course and I can honestly say she has progressed more academically and emotionally in just this last year than in her time at secondary school.
The teachers and LSA's are so in tune with what my daughter needs and she has made some great friends.
It's a brilliant place.

My son is just coming up to his first year at East Surrey. At first he found it difficult because it was a huge change to school. He has grown in confidence and enjoying his learning. The teachers have helped him to flourish. They have always been there for him and if i need to get in touch they are always available at a time to suit me. The teachers have encouraged him in everything he chooses to do, even when things are difficult for him he still manages to achieve. I would highly recommend this unit to other students who need supported learning. Many Thanks

My son attends the supported learning unit. I can't praise the team highly enough for the amazing support and encouragement given to him. They have enabled him to make fantastic progress and the manager is always available for feedback, concerns and queries.

Appalling institution. My son started a carpentry apprenticeship in September and we have been chasing the college since Early November. It's now February and we still haven't managed to speak to anyone, despite messages being left! Sub-standard education, non existent parent- college relationship and absolutely no desire to do the best for students. Student are treated like a tiny voice and requests are overlooked and ignored. 1 start was generous. Don't send your child here if you want to be able to communicate with departments.

Great college. I wasn't there for long but I found the staff friendly and helpful and the people were lovely. Excellent education provision. I know a lot of people who have had a good experience there and gone on to succeed. Would recommend.
