Five Years ago this was a brilliant place to study as all of the staff were passionate about delivering excellent service too all students , but now with the Vice Chancellor the place has went the down hill very fast now most staff are demoralised as their workload has increased and the students are just a commodity passing through and all students fees are extortion and they leave with massive debt , if current management changes then this place could be so great again .

Amazing uni I did my degree and now I've come back to do my masters. Social sciences staff are amazing and have backgrounds in specific areas in there subjects and continue to further their knowledge which they then pass on to the students. The criminology lectures are very passionate about the subject which shows in classes and this translates to make the students learn more effectively. The student union is a very welcoming place and are always happy to help you. The staff in the union are very approachable and the structure is set up to help make the experience of uni life a good one. They actively support students. The uni is amazing when dealing with disabled students and have helped me so much making it so easy to manage uni with my disabilities they put the help I needed in very quickly. Going to Northumbria was the best decision I made I had such a great experience doing my degree there was no question I was going to do my masters anywhere else I didn't even consider any other uni. And lipman cafe is great the staff in there are so friendly. The food and coffee is good there and throughout the uni. Northumbria is the best!

Very lousy University. Assessments are mostly fully based on assignments, which resulting in many students buying their assignments. As a result, students that work hard for their degree end up obtaining a cheap ass degree. Northumbria Uni has the lousiest students. It should stick to a polytechnic like how it used to be.

I started Northumbria Uni in 2005 and graduated in 2010. The best moments of my life have been at this university and it's student population has a character quite unique from anywhere else. Its Students Union is absolutely fantastic, whilst its academic staff are excellent. I have no bad words to say about this place and attending this institution has developed a passionate loyalty in me toward it.
