There’s never been a better time to be part of Solihull College & University Centre after a fantastic start to the academic year. We have recently been granted government approval to use the “University Centre” brand due to the high numbers and breadth of our higher education offer and last year achieved top marks in a QAA review of our higher education provision. We were also subject to a Government Area Review which concluded that the College was financially strong and resilient for the future with our funding body confirming our outstanding financial health. Our achievements were added to just before Christmas when we were graded ‘Good’ across all areas of the College by Ofsted. We have since achieved Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) Gold for our higher education provision – the only college in the West Midlands to do this, beating many top Russell Group universities.

We continue to be at the forefront of innovation with investment in outstanding facilities for our students, with industry-standard science laboratories and virtual reality equipment recently introduced at Blossomfield Campus and the Centre for Advanced Aeronautical Provision featuring world-class flight simulators and a former Royal Navy Aircraft at Woodlands Campus. School leavers, apprentices, university level and adult learners can thrive in facilities unmatched in the region.

We have invested in all of our subject areas and we also have the HQ of Solihull Chamber of Commerce based at the College. This has been a huge benefit where the Chamber broker many of our employer links from work experience and expert inputs to offers of employment and apprenticeships for many of our students who have completed their studies.

We aim to find a place for everyone, with courses offered from beginner right up to degree-level right here in Solihull. With strong links to top employers across a range of industries, we ensure our courses are tailored to continuously evolving industry needs. Our staff possess the expertise and drive to ensure students leave the College with the skills necessary to make their mark in their chosen industry or progress to the next level in their education – whether with us at our University Centre or at top universities across the country.

Solihull College & University Centre will make significant contributions to the local and regional economies and beyond, by providing high quality vocational education and training for individuals, employers and the wider community. Our vision is to be the organisation of choice for learning for young people, adults and employers through their recognition of our excellent and distinctive experiences in vocational education and training. Our staff are committed to going the extra mile to deliver the best service possible. They are passionate about student success and eager to respond to the needs of all customers of the College – students, parents, employers and other members of the community. Solihull College & University Centre recognises the importance of the active promotion of fundamental British values in all we do. The values of democracy, rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs are complemented by the college’s own values.

Solihull college is probably one of the best colleges ive heard of i study public services and the tutors are so respectful and trustworthy. Absolutely love the college although on the down side the food isn't quite perfect if im honest ? the college is pretty clean, toilets, corridor's, classrooms, canteen etc. I advise students from school who wish to attend Solihull college blossomfield to go.

I'm currently studying part-time for my level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing qualification. The course and the facilities at the college are great and the tutors are really helpful. The evening classes mean that I can continue working full-time whilst gaining my qualification.

I have been part of this college for two years now. Over the last year I have seen a massive decline in both management and teaching. I myself have been picked on and bullied by certain members of the Level 2 It staff. And have been left when asking for advice from staff that have made me miss deadlines. I have also seen that the college do not provide any good industry standard software to prepare us for work but instead provide us with old outdated software and or obsolete software no longer in use. Teachers also do not make the lessons interesting and teach us stuff that we already know. Along with these main points there is also a massive problem in student behavior and have seen students with special needs get bullied day after day and when I have told staff that do not seem to care anyway I would not recommend this college to anyone after the way I was treated. As a great man once said “absolute bollocks! waste of time” I have to agree to this.
