Tameside College has been a game-changer for my daughter; the engaging curriculum and dedicated staff have truly empowered her growth and confidence in her studies.

I'm going to say my full truth and my opinions on the college. I joined level 2 IT and the teachers and the work was un-prepped and the computers were acting up since day one. The English was great for me but the maths is just a joke since they don't work at your pace and learning style. They have outdated tech (heating, lighting etc. ) and there's clutter everywhere. They stress more about students having their card with them than students actually passing their exams. I wish I picked a better course or gone to another college.

Generally a poor experience studying at this College, complaints have been raised to tutors but nothing is ever done about the issues. For a few weeks/months of my course, the learning tools did not meet any sort of needs of the pupils/students. The management seem to care more about the students who don't want to be there more than the students who are exceeding academically and in extra-curricular activities..

This college helped me achieve higher education. Not everyone has the same experience of school or calm enough living situations for optimal educational progression as a youth. This college rebuilt me when I'd given up on myself and my ability to be academic. The staff are supportive, the facilities are good, the other students mostly want to be there learning and my education was the best experience. I've got a degree now (bit of very expensive paper!) but more importantly I exceeded my own expectations.

The Truth about Tameside College: The staff are mostly ignorant and downright rude. The college is a dark, dingy building sight. The courses are poorly organised and the work has very little to do with the course. The students are a bunch of ignorant cretins who hate you if you're not "the right kind of person". Attendance doesn't matter at all, I know somebody who was was not given a place on the next course with 97% attendance while somebody else on the same course has been granted a place on the next level with 65%. Tameside College is the reason I am always misrable and depressed. I made a complaint and was treated with contempt and a lack of respect. There is no redeeming features, and the whole college is a car crash that should not be open to students.

I recently completed a five week Masterchef course which was expertly taught by the appropriately named Peter Cooke! What a fantastic experience this was and what amazing value for money. Everything about the process from booking through to taking the course was made easy by the staff, who were all very helpful and friendly. Peter could not have been more helpful and answered every culinary question with ease. From the first session he made it clear to us all that the course was all about us and what we wanted to get out of it. He was more than happy to accommodate any recipes or ideas that we had in mind whilst at the same time teaching us lots of new techniques covering many different types of dishes. Frankly I don't know how he fitted it all in to the allocated time. Everything that we could possibly need or want in order to do the job in hand was provided for us including all the ingredients and I don't know how they managed to do it for the small amount that we paid for the course! Thank you Tameside college and Peter Cooke for a very enjoyable & informative five weeks!
