Loma Linda University is a Seventh-day Adventist organization with more than 4,400 students located in Southern California. Eight schools comprise the University organization. We share our campus with six hospitals where students receive hands-on training. More than 100 programs are offered by the schools of Allied Health Professions, Behavioral Health, Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health and Religion. Curricula offered range from certificates of completion and associate in science degrees to doctor of philosophy and professional doctoral degrees. In addition, Loma Linda University also offers several distance education programs. Students from more than 80 countries around the world and virtually every state in the nation are represented in Loma Linda University's student body.

It’s the creative thinking, unique perspectives and individual dreams of many that continue to help us transform the world and shatter barriers in the healthcare industry. As a private health sciences university, we are working together to learn, explore and find life-saving treatments to help our local neighborhoods and the underserved populations around the world. There’s no limit to what we can do.

Loma Linda was established on Aug. 26, 1905 as Loma Linda Sanitarium thanks to the visionary efforts of Seventh-day Adventist pioneer, Ellen G. White. Over the past 100 years, we have always focused on our mission “to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ” and applying whole person care to every patient.

We continue to expand our healthcare treatments around the world and in our communities. By the year 2020, we will welcome an exciting addition to our campus with a new 16-story adult hospital and expanded children’s hospital thanks to Vision 2020: The Campaign for a Whole Tomorrow.

We nurture their intellectual curiosity. We facilitate their development into active, independent learners. We provide continuing educational opportunities for our alumni and professional peers. We encourage a personal Christian faith that permeates the lives of those we educate.

We respect our faculty, staff, and administration who through education, research, and service create a stimulating learning environment for our students. They contribute to the development of new understandings in their chosen fields. They demonstrate both Christian values and competence in their scholarship and professions.

We provide humanitarian service through people, programs, and facilities. We promote healthful living and respond to the therapeutic and rehabilitative needs of people. We seek to enhance the quality of life for individuals in local, regional, national, and world communities.
