Atlanta, Georgia’s capital and largest city, is the leading cultural and economic center of the American Southeast with a diverse population in a metropolitan area exceeding five million. Rich in history and attractions, Atlanta was the seat of the Civil Rights Movement and now boasts more than a dozen Fortune 500 companies, countless consulates and major nonprofits, thriving arts and sports scenes, and one of the nation’s greatest concentrations of government bodies and agencies. While Hartsfield-Jackson, the world’s busiest airport, provides easy connections to the rest of the nation and globe, Atlanta enjoys uncommon access to economic opportunity and quality of life with a cost of living significantly lower than larger metropolitan cities. Just two hours from the Appalachian Mountains and four to the Atlantic coast, Atlanta offers a comfortable and balanced urban experience suitable to any lifestyle.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
Georgia State University Philosophy and Honors departments are top-notch; I can't speak to the other departments. The professors are very accessible with engaging teaching methods. They are rated in the top 10 of Philosophy MA programs with good reason; the classes are as varied as the student body.
Security on campus is not the best; there have been a lot of attacks recently as I understand it.The campus is in the heart of Atlanta, which is nice for when you want to get away from school for a minute. Students tend to commute rather than stay on campus and the social life is indicative of that.

Georgia State University has the best music program. My major was Piano Pedagogy. My piano teacher-Geoff Haydon is the best teacher ever. Ever since I came to him pre-audition, he has helped me all along even now after I graduated, to play better and better, and to be a responsible, creative, strong, and a courageous person. He has proved his success by performing everywhere, publishing music, all kinds of stuff that deal with music--he's the expert to go to. The school overall has high standard and strives to improve things around the school for students. My other music teachers are also excellence. They treat students as equal and encourages us to be professional at all times, but at the same time they could be very understanding. Btw, it's in the heart of downtown Atlanta. Very alive and full of energy!

Georgia State University is an outstanding value. A great education at a manageable price. The social environment is lacking , but the population is very diverse. The faculty is experienced and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Georgia State University.
