As the leader in vitalistic healthcare education, Life University strives to empower its students to succeed both professionally and personally based on its vitalistic philosophy. At LIFE, we innovate our approach to higher education, while also remaining true to our philosophical commitment to produce informed leaders who exemplify humanistic values in their professions. To achieve this goal, LIFE recognizes and demonstrates its dedication through several applied philosophies.

LIFE’s Eight Core Proficiencies further students’ dedication to personal integrity, and provide a cornerstone for professional success, social contribution and cultural change.A uniquely LIFE-oriented philosophical approach is its guiding principle of Lasting Purpose: To Give, To Do, To Love, To Serve – Out of a Sense of Abundance, which recognizes that everyone – student, faculty and staff alike – has a duty to share their individual gifts with the world.

LIFE also fosters students’ commitment to their full potential and peak performance in their educational pursuits and future professional lives through healthy habits that create a flourishing world community.

Participating in campus recreation activities and programs is a great way to stay involved, physically and socially, on campus with students, faculty and staff. In the past, our department has offered programs and activities such as intramural basketball, flag football and soccer, as well as off campus trips like white water rafting, hiking, Braves Games and to see the Atlanta Hawks play at Phillips Arena.

The PAR Center at LIFE serves as a support center to faculty and provides testing services for national, professional certification and distance examinations to students and other examinees. We are available to assist all faculty who wish to have their exams copied and/or scored and provide training and equipment for those who are interested in operating the copier and/or PAR Score program themselves. As a public service and for our students, we contract with other universities and testing companies to administer tests following the National College Testing Association’s Professional Standards and Guidelines.

The mission of Life University is to empower each student with the education, skills, and values needed for career success and life fulfillment based on a vitalistic philosophy. Life University takes all student and consumer complaints very seriously. The University works with students to resolve all complaints in an expeditious, fair, and pleasant manner. The complaint process provides students a path to discuss academic and non-academic concerns or register formal complaints or grievances. This process can also be used to address alleged violations of State consumer protection laws that include but are not limited to fraud and false advertising, alleged violations of State laws or rules relating to the licensure of post-secondary institutions, complaints relating to the quality of education, or other State or accreditation requirements. Post-secondary institutions participating in federal student financial aid programs are required to maintain formal grievance procedures.

The idea for Life University was conceived among a group of prominent chiropractors led by Dr. Sid Williams during several retreats in Ormond Beach, Florida. The discussion centered on the need for a principled and vitalistic-based chiropractic college in the Southeast.

In 1975, Life Chiropractic College opened its doors using half of what was, at the time, the Georgia Unemployment Office.Twenty-two students attended the first classes in January 1975. Since that “Day-One class,” the school has grown both in enrollment and physical space, acquiring land and buildings and constructing new facilities. Currently, Life University occupies 110 acres of property on the northwest corner of the intersection of Cobb Parkway (US 41) and South Cobb Drive (US 253) in Marietta, Georgia.

By 1990, under the leadership of the founder/president Dr. Sid Williams, Life College had grown to become the largest chiropractic college in the world. In 1996, Life College expanded its degree offerings to include an undergraduate school and became Life University.

I graduated from Life College in 1996. Since then the school has evolved quite a bit and added a University status. Life has always been grounded in very firm chiropractic philosophy with a focus on technique and adjusting skills. The best chiropractors I have met have come through this school with the absolute best adjusting skills due to the exposure the students get to a multitude of techniques in the class room, practicums and the student technique clubs. If you want to learn how to be a great chiropractor with fine tuned adjusting skills then Life University is for you. If you want to be a medically oriented Chiropractor, then go elsewhere.

Life University gets five stars from me, because in my opinion, it is the best Chiropractic school in the nation. They offer an alternative mindset towards health and wellness, and how to get away from the standard mindset of taking pills or surgery is the only solution to better "health."
