We are committed to helping students gain the healthcare education they need to build successful nursing, radiography, and heath informatics and information management careers. It’s a commitment that started over 100 years ago.

Resurrection University educates students to become healthcare leaders by cultivating a diverse learning community based on the Catholic tradition of faith, hope and healing.

Our vision is “To be a learning community that thinks critically and embraces change, inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals and leaders.”

Our philosophy of Education is to further develop the students’ capacity for reflection and understanding of the intellectual, physical, social and spiritual well-being, enabling insight into their personal life and professional career: individually, locally and globally.

Our first step towards a degree from Resurrection University begins here. The first steps of your journey toward a degree and a career in healthcare begin here. When it comes to our undergraduate programs, there is one important aspect you should know: Resurrection University is an “upper division” or “transfer” university. The best way to view us is that we are like the final two years (junior and senior years) of a four year university. Thus, we only have upper-division classes specific to your program of interest. In other words, if you are interested in the Nursing program, you will only take Nursing classes at ResU. For admission into our undergraduate programs, you will need to take general education and other program pre-requisites, or what is equivalent to your freshman and sophomore years, at another regionally-accredited institution like a community or junior college and transfer in those classes and credits.

Resurrection University has helped thousands of students manage the cost of earning a degree. Paying for college is a challenge. At Resurrection University we understand and we do our best to help. We’re upfront about our tuition and fees. We provide budgeting tools to help you gain a clear picture of the costs involved. Most important of all, we offer the assistance you need to manage the many financial aid options that are available to Resurrection University students. We know paying for education is difficult. Resurrection University is committed to helping you through the process.

In 1911, a few physicians from the Chicago suburbs of Oak Park and Austin decided that their communities needed a hospital. Under the leadership of Dr. Charles E. Humiston, an Austin physician and president of the Illinois State Medical Society, a committee was formed, funds were raised, land was purchased, and the cornerstone for the West Suburban Hospital was laid on April 12, 1912.
