Çağ University was established as a public entity on 9th July 1997 by Bayboğan Educational Foundation under the law number 4282 and subject to the provisions of the law number 2547. Çağ University started with the faculties of Science and Literature, Economics and Administrative Sciences, Engineering and Architecture, Vocational School, Preparatory School (English), Social Sciences Institute and Science Institute. Subsequently, the Law School was founded under the Council of Ministers decision numbered 97/10212 on 06.11.1997.

The language of instruction is English at Çağ University. The school distinguishes itself with its international academicians and high quality education. Çağ University is the first private university in the fertile land of Çukurova, which is a natural paradise and cultural center in the Akdeniz Region. The campus reached 470.000 meter squares with the areas donated in 2005. The number of students and academicians increases every year.

The number of students was 422 in the 1998-1999 academic year. The number increased to 1231 in 2005, 1520 in 2006, 1865 in 2007 and 2186 in 2008. There were 2378 associate degree and bachelor’s degree and 35 graduate degree students in 2009. When the university started, there were about 25 academicians. The number increased to 101 in the 2007-2008 academic year. In the year of 2009, 134 full time, 20 part time academicians' and 64 administrative personnel were working at Çağ University.
