The Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech) is an institution founded on the principles of excellence through hands-on knowledge. We believe in giving students a rigorous, practical education while applying cutting-edge concepts for real-world solutions. As the Pacific Northwest’s only public institute of technology, we take pride in our mission to deliver technology education. We continually partner with industry leaders to ensure that our programs and classes are at the top of the board with adapting to new technology and preparing students for workforce demands. This real-world focus gives our students a competitive edge: 90 percent are employed or in graduate school within six months of graduation. Year after year, our baccalaureate graduates earn excellent starting salaries.

Oregon Institute of Technology, an Oregon public university, offers innovative and rigorous applied degree programs in the areas of engineering, engineering technologies, health technologies, management, and the arts and sciences. To foster student and graduate success, the university provides an intimate, hands-on learning environment, focusing on application of theory to practice. Oregon Tech offers statewide educational opportunities for the emerging needs of Oregonians and provides information and technical expertise to state, national and international constituents.

There are many opportunities for current students to gain international experience while attending Oregon Tech. Students who study abroad develop international skills and global understanding, and see the world in a whole new perspective. It is never too late to spread your wings and fly! Studying abroad is easier than you may think. Look into it now.

The Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech) welcomes international students as applicants and as vital members of our campus community. Oregon Tech is an accredited, public university in the United States. The university is certified to admit F-1 visa applicants to a variety of international and exchange programs.

The mission of the Oregon Tech Integrated Student Health Center is to support students by providing tools which encourage them to be knowledgeable about and actively invested in the benefits of self-care and choosing well to maintain their physical and emotional wellness.

The overarching purpose of the Oregon Tech Honors Program (OTHP) is to provide Oregon Tech students with a complementary academic curriculum and a collection of extracurricular learning experiences that promote a more well-rounded future career professional, a socially responsible person, and connected and liberally educated student: this is the idea of the professional as a person. A professional, understood in this way, is a person connected to many communities, locally and globally, scholarly and civic-oriented, and is a person who strives to make the most of those connections with others to lead a more meaningful life.

The Financial Aid Office is committed to providing high-quality service to all students, their families, and the community. As part of that commitment, the office strives to provide information that is accurate, easy to understand and enables students to make decisions regarding educational funding.

We also attribute this to our dedicated professors, who provide personalized attention and are genuinely invested in their students’ learning. A total enrollment of about 4,000 allows for an intimate campus environment distinguished by small classes and a student-to-faculty ratio of 20:1. This personal approach provides many benefits of a prestigious private education at a public price. Our individualized and applied approach to teaching, which blends theory and practice, is the main reason our alumni are so avidly recruited. Whether they study software engineering, vascular technology, management, or dental hygiene, Oregon Tech students have amazing opportunities to apply what they learn in lab-based classes, clinics, externships and workplaces. This practical focus is reinforced in the classroom by instructors who come to Oregon Tech with relevant business, industrial, or clinical experience. And in every program, major studies are underscored by a general-education core that broadens students’ understanding of the world and teaches them to communicate effectively, solve problems and think for themselves. Oregon Tech is best known for its traditional engineering and technological core, but new degree options (and surprising twists on old ones) are remarkably multi-dimensional.

Oregon Institute of Technology is the only public institute of technology in the Pacific Northwest. It has successfully evolved through several stages since its beginning in 1947 – first, as a vocational rehabilitation school for World War II veterans known as Oregon Vocational School; then as a regionally-accredited institution, known as Oregon Technical Institute, offering associate degree programs; then as a four-year technical school known as Oregon Institute of Technology.

For more than 70 years, Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech) has focused on changing the lives of Oregonians by preparing them to meet the technical and management needs of business, industry and healthcare agencies, and is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Individual programs also are accredited by the appropriate professional organizations. Today, Oregon Tech offers Bachelor of Science programs in engineering, health technologies, management, communication and the applied sciences. These include bachelor degree-completion programs offered online and over 20 bachelor and master programs that can be entirely completed at the Portland-Metro Campus (in Wilsonville). Oregon Tech also offers a number of associate degree programs, both online and in Salem, Oregon.
