Our mission is to educating students to become servants of Christ to make a difference in today’s world. The College seeks to assist in the personal growth and development of qualified students by providing an education based upon an integrated understanding of the Bible and the liberal arts.

Bryan College was established as a four-year undergraduate college of arts and sciences, although until 1958 the corporate title used the term “University.”

In December 2005 the College was authorized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (Commission on Colleges) to offer its first graduate degree: The Master of Business Administration. Chartered in 1930 under the laws of Tennessee as a general welfare corporation with the basic purpose of providing “for the higher education of men and women under auspices distinctly Christian and spiritual,” the College has responded to changing times with various modifications of its educational program. The goals for institutional development and the changing climate in American higher education will continue to influence the educational program. However, the original institutional purpose as a Christian liberal arts college remains unchanged.

With an awareness of its heritage and a commitment to its future, the College endeavors to serve its constituencies by traditional and novel means. Bryan College maintains the following distinctives as part of its vision for the next century.

Although students are neither required to subscribe to any statement of belief nor placed under any duress with regard to their religious position, the College leadership desires that its graduates will ultimately find their lives transformed by the living Christ, being filled with the Holy Spirit, and consistently practicing a thoroughly Christian lifestyle which grows from a well-developed biblical worldview. These graduates should be well integrated persons and mature citizens who accept their responsibility to glorify God and serve others.

Enrolling my child at this university in Tennessee has been a transformative experience; the dedicated faculty fosters a passion for learning, and I've witnessed remarkable growth in their confidence and skills.

I transferred to Bryan College as a sophomore and have been thankful I did ever since. Bryan sticks to its motto: "Christ Above All." The school emphasizes missions and serving others. The students are friendly and polite, and the professors are helpful. The classes are challenging and interesting, encouraging students to think for themselves. Overall, I'm very glad I came to Bryan.

I just transfered to this school this semester after completing 3 semesters at a much bigger school. Here I am much more than just a number, the head of my major knows me by more than my GPA, and the students are incredibly inclusive. Yes, this is a smaller school so there are not as many options as to what you can major in, but the ones we do have are composed of high-quality courses with tough but personable and understanding professors. You will be taught about God here, told about the truths found in it, asked about what you believe and challenged to defend it. When you cannot defend it the attitude is not one of "Aha! I just won the debate!" but of mercy and guidance toward the truth, and why they believe that. The faculty/staff/administration are approachable, and allow themselves to be perceived as real people instead of stereotypical professors. They step outside of those boundaries as "classroom professors," and let you get to know them as a mother/father with a family, and long to know you as a person and invest in your life not just your GPA.Before coming to Bryan you should know that the staff will do anything they can to get you in here once you know God wants you here; that you will work hard in your classes on papers and projects THAT MATTER and will prepare you for the "real world"; that the students here are real people, some from broken families and backgrounds, but all with a story of God's grace that will astound you. Lastly, you should know that although you will be challenged here beyond average standards, you will also grow in your faith, in your ability to work with people, and in many other ways beyond your preconceived expectations of this "small town college."
