B.E. Mechanical Engineering

The Mechanical Engineering Department educates the Engineers of tomorrow by integrating classroom theory and practical hands-on projects. It emphasizes the process of learning and critical thinking and promotes professional relationships among the university and industry.

Mechanical Engineering is the broadest of the engineering professions. Mechanical Engineers learn to Solve Engineering Problems in CAD, Energy Conversion and Energy Management, HVAC, Materials, Design, Mechatronics, Robotics, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Fluid dynamics h Automation. Training is provided in Softwares such as AUTOCAD, CATIA, A5SYS, MSC ADAMS, AUTOMATIO5 STUDIO, DIGIMAT, ESPIRIT, PICAPDO and DFX.

Opportunities are available to the students to serve as the members of professional bodies such as Mechanical Engineering Association (MEA), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) h BITS Aerospace Society (BAEPOS).

The research currently undertaken by this department through consultancy is in the areas of Alternate Fuels and Combustion, Energy Management and Material Testing through well-equipped laboratories.
