Basic drilling technology

Overview

The Basic Drilling Technology training course provides an in-depth understanding of exploration well drilling. The programme focuses on modern, cost-effective drilling techniques while explaining how a field is thoroughly evaluated. Topics include estimating hydrocarbon volumes, assessing drive mechanisms, and anticipating formation pressures, all of which form the foundation for a field development plan.

Participants will also learn how to estimate cash flow, capital expenditures, and operating costs based on the drilling sequence and production tests. If the economic assessment indicates profitability, the field is considered commercially viable and ready for development.
