Dubai, UAE: Members of the Indian expatriate community who have felt a shortage spaces in Indian curriculum schools have reasons to cheer.
In what seems like a string of new openings, a number of new schools catering to the Indian community are being opened up in the Dubai.
The most recent one is The New Millennium School by Gems on Al Khail Road.
Modelled on the successful branches in Dubai and Sharjah, the new institution is now open for registration for students from KG1 – Grade 8 and will start classes from April onward. The facility will expand eventually to include additional years, the UAE’s largest education provider says.
The New Millennium School – Al Khail will offer day-boarding options to students, a first of its kind in the UAE for CBSE curriculum.
“From Grade 3 onwards, students participate in the Day-Boarding programme, making the Millennium Schools the only CBSE Day-Boarding schools in the UAE,” reads a message on its website.
The annual tuition fee starts at Dh20,000 for KG 1 and goes up to Dh29,000 to Grade 12.
Earlier in the year, a handful of new schools announced their opening whereas some are advertising themselves open to admissions.
As reported by this website, one of India’s most reputed school, Springdales, is open to students in Dubai. Following a CBSE curriculum, the school is initially taking admissions from kindergarten to grade 5 and will start session in April of this year
The fee at Springdales starts at Dh17,000 for kindergarten and goes up to Dh30,000 for grade 11 and 12.
The Indian Academy, a relatively new school, is open to admissions. It, however, offers the curriculum of ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education). The school started its new academic year in April 2012, with classes from KG to Gr-V. It will subsequently be upgraded every year. The fee ranges from Dh10,000 for KG1 to Dh14,000 for grade 5.
