Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, UAE

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research was established by 1992 Federal Law No. (4), with a view to oversee higher education and scientific research policies in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The UAE has realized several achievements in establishing an advanced and sophisticated higher education system in a short period of time. These accomplishments are credited to the prudent vision of His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahayan – (may Allah rest his soul) – who recognized from the dawn of the UAE Federation, that science and knowledge are the cornerstones of progress and development. Moreover, by providing the UAE youth opportunities to pursue quality higher education in all fields of knowledge; hence, preparing them to manage future challenges is the key platform for success and guaranteed prosperity and stability.

In concordance with this concept, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahayan has made education a strategic choice in the U.A.E. seeking to support capacities in all areas until the UAE has become an attractive environment for students from all over the world. Respectively, U.A.E. students studying abroad in various countries of the world are benefiting from the experiences of these countries in the interests of the future plans of the State and meeting the needs of the labor market.

As Cabinet Member and Minister of State for Higher Education since February 2016, His Excellency Dr. Ahmad bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi supervises the development of higher education and scientific research in the country. H.E. overseas universities operating in the UAE, the implementation of higher education policies as well as ensuring the delivery of high-quality tertiary education that aligns with labor market requirements.

Mission Develop an innovative Education System for a knowledge and global competitive society , that includes all age groups to meet future labor market demand ,by ensuring quality of the ministry of education outputs , and provision of best services for internal and external customers.
