The JamJar

Founded in 2005, thejamjar is a community arts space that aims to engage audiences, promote local artists and support the development of Dubai's art scene through its extensive art programmes, educational initiatives, and community projects.

Through our diverse public programmes, we aim to increase knowledge and appreciation for the arts in the UAE. Our objective is to build a bridge between the arts and education, opening cultural dialogue in a non-judgemental environment, and help carry the ideation process into creation. As a means to do so, we host workshops, talks, events and opportunities to bring together a like-minded community.

Our three major multi-functional areas offers the region's first public Do-It-Yourself Painting Studio and Creative Learning programme accessible for all, young and younger. A year round of events calendar is scheduled in alignment with thejamjar's mission which is to support diversity in the arts including arts, including visual arts, film, music and performance.

We partner with schools and teachers to make the growing art scene in the UAE accessible to students, developing lesson plans which support the school's curriculum and targets. This often takes the form of unique out-of-classroom learning experiences with professional visual artists, creative practitioners and galleries, including hands-on workshops and artist talks. Guided tours to galleries in Alserkal Avenue are also available through our Gallery Tour Worskhops all through the year for students and teachers.

Our Creative Learning team becomes your first point of contact. We work together with your teachers through the process of booking dates, timings, and deciding the appropriate lesson ideas for your group. With confirmations, schools receive formal documentation, risk assessment details and a location map. Once all the formalities are complete we start preparing to give your children a fun and engaging experience with art.

We strongly believe in the power of art and recognise the benefits that art education holds for all ages. Whether it's an art lesson for your team, family art workshops in a public location, or an art campaign, we can create a themed learning programme and manage it for you. Our experienced art educators are well trained, practicing artists with a natural flair for teaching and love to share their knowledge and spark new ideas. We also work with museums, galleries and art institutes, embracing their curatorial themes and creating unique, tailored educational programmes to help them take the public further in their learning experience.
