Istanbul Bilim College

İstanbul Bilim Koleji was established in Yenibosna in 1997 with the economic contribution of nearly 80 people from different occupational groups, who have comprehended the importance of education. Continuing to provide service in Küçükçekmece Halkalı-Atakent Housing Estate, one of the most prestigious areas of İstanbul where it was moved to later, İstanbul Bilim Koleji is an education base with 20.000 square meter closed area including Kindergarden, Elementary School, Secondary School, Anatolian High School and Science High School with separate entrances, exits and gardens.

Our main target as Bilim Koleji is to make the students adopt our values in a natural course, make them permanent with small but effective targets without boring them and to raise them as young people who know about our basic qualities and care about morality in addition to academic education.

We know that education plays an important role in transfering the values system for the ideal of a certain society to individuals. The most important role of education is to teach values in a natural process, to discipline individuals in line with determined rules and contribute to moral development.

Today friends, internet, television and even toys have severe effects on shaping of the values of our children. All these have a alienating and corruptive effect towards our values on our children which are mostly conscious and sometimes unconscious. Even though our students have information on values, our values are worn out by reasons such as negative effects in mass communication tools and changing standards of judgement and a confusion on their necessity is formed.

That is why students becoming aware of certain values, creating, adopting and displaying new values with behaviors are a separate education area. This will be completed in a certain period. Acting together as school and family is so important for shortening the time and preserving and developing the natural beauty of our children. We believe that they should be handled with care and attention for this. Behaviors which we will make them adopt in this process with your contribution will strengthen the characters of our children. Individuals who have a strong character, knowledge and skills will make positive changes in the society starting from their own families.

As Bilim Koleji, we thought that determining smaller daily targets which have high applicability would be useful for applying things learned together with covering the subjects in Values Education or Counseling classes. At this point, we have started a project under the name "Do Yourself a Favour". Although every right or good behaviour is considered as a favour to another person, it is actually a favour done by the person to him/herself. So we give the students behavior advices which are small but would have a higher effect when repeated. We will send these targets to you our precious parents every month and ask you to follow the applications of the student at home and to apply them together if required.
